1  Embroidered Baby Blanket in Needlework: Completed Projects by Trisha2010 on: May 28, 2010 07:37:05 PM
This is the gift I made for my baby cousin's Baby shower. My uncle and his fiance decided to be suprised with gender so I needed something that could work for either a girl or boy.

I found the Patterns for all the little animals on Flickr, they took about a week and a half to embroider. I primarily used bakstitch with some french knots and chain stitch.
All of the squares were muslin, I love how soft it gets when it's washed. The backing is a tan flannel that I got 60% off which was nice. When it was finished I quilted around each square then I tied out the entire quilt with some acrylic yarn.

Everyone really loved how it came out. These are some of my favorite animals.

Letme know what you think.

4  Re: Creepy Dolls Round 2 Gallery :) in The Swap Gallery by Trisha2010 on: December 05, 2008 01:18:05 PM
I received the last of my dolls on wed.

This first one is from onthinice..I love his beads, and the color..he is very text-tury.(is that even close to a real word?) He reminds me a bit of Brian froud work.

The doll on the far left of this next shot is the best photo out of like twenty. I couldn't take a very good photo of it Roll Eyes He is from yofi and we have no idea what he could be...but that is ok he is certainly the most unique doll I have received from both rounds. He has like a bowl/strainer for his Base and a metal disc for a face..Love his crazy orange hair Smiley

If you have a better pic post it, the others were really bad.

I like that moth guy..he is weeiirrd!!

5  Baby stocking type hat in Knitting: Completed Projects by Trisha2010 on: December 02, 2008 02:47:07 PM
A few days ago someone posted their swap stuff, From MissApril and they recieved a green and white striped hat for their baby..I was completly jealous and whipped one up for my baby nephi-poo!!

I used acrylic yarn in green and white and size 6 dpn and 9 dpn. The hat is 19in. from brim to top of puff. Made for a 17in. circ. head.

I was going to wait to post this until I could get an action shot, i was gonna babysit today but they didnt show up Tongue So you get a pic without the baby.

I started another in black and white for my sister..she really likes it and demanded one of her own..she is 19 years old I will post some pics of her when it is done I am sure it will look amusing  Wink If anyone is interested I can write up a pattern as I go for an adult size?

6  Sherman..The goblin in CHALLENGE 33 ENTRIES by Trisha2010 on: December 02, 2008 02:45:40 PM
I have been seeing peoples entrys and decided to enter with the Hand Puppet that I made last week for My 7 month old nephew as a Christmas gift. My nephew really loves puppets..REALLY loves them!

This is Sherman..he is a goblin/monster who is terrified of babies! You can tell by his horrified expression! He is screaming in terror I assure you, completely senseless, you couldn't find a more adorable nephew if you looked for a year.

I risked my life to get this closeup..so pretend it isn't blurry! While not wanting to get anywhere near babies, he has no problem's with maiming adults so keep your distance if you value any of your more visible bits.

Some of you might want to look away on this one..I snagged one more photo and got a shot of his privates Shocked

His body is some really soft fake fur that I had leftover from a pillowcase for my sister a few months ago, His face is felt pieces stitched onto some tan cotton, and some brown safety eyes. The inside where the hand goes is satin layered with some muslin underneath for stabilty and because the pegs on the backs of the eyes are kind of long.
This took me two days to complete, I probably could have made it quicker but I handsewed the entire thing..ughh..My poor fingers from sewing through all that fur and felt.

I hope you if you like him you will Vote for Me Cheesy

I recieved from keeperox today and Everthing is so perfect!! We decide to make just a muslin dolly and then to make it outfits...I love how her hair flips over to make her asleep or awake.
I opened the box and out she came in a nightie with a bunny and pillow and blankie, her Goodnight, Sleep tight outfit.

Close up of the face painting.

Then I changed her into the Prima Ballerina. Look at her great ballet slippers!! Cheesy

Next she is wearing the Autumn Flirty-Skirty look. I Love the beret and red mary janes.

And a Group shot including the letter that says this is her first doll ever!! Crazy I know.

THANK YOU!!! keeperox for the great dolly, and dragonmama for organizing. This was a lot of fun.
