1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / FAT QUARTER SWAP FOR UK CRAFTSTERS on: November 25, 2008 02:33:17 PM
 Cheesy
Hi,
I have never swapped before, but would like to. As it is almost Christmas, would anyone be interested in a fat quarter swap? This wouldn't take too much time or effort, which would be ideal for this busy time of year.  A good idea may be 2, or 4 fat quarters.
As I live in the UK, it would be a lot cheaper for postage, if this one was restricted to UK. I would love to swap with craftsters from other countries, but international postage can be quite expensive.
Would anyone else be interested? It would be great to hear from you!  Grin
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / ***Tote bag for a little star*** on: November 17, 2008 02:56:01 PM
 Smiley
My little 10 month old grandaughter , Aaliyah, needed a bag for her swimming costume, and towel. Her mum had been squeezing these items into her nappy (diaper) bag, so I decided to make her a little tote bag of her own.
I started at about 7.30 one evening, and didn't get to bed until I finished it!

Its made from a pink starry Cath Kidston fabric, is lined, and has a little calico pocket on it, with Aaliyah's name chain stitched on it,  in pastel colours. I also found some little satin applique stars, and I thought they'd be ideal with the starry fabric. I also had some white bias binding with pink hearts on it, so added it as a border around the top.
I was pleased with the outcome, mum likes it too. When the little one gets older, she can use it as a book bag.  Cheesy
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My first pictures posted on Craftster!!!!! on: November 06, 2008 03:10:47 PM
I have posted on Craftster, for a little while now, but haven't worked out how to post pics on here yet. So this evening, after 3+ hours, I think I have finally worked it out.
I found a great pattern in a book for a lined, zip top make-up bag, and had to make one for myself. As they were relatively easy to make and looked good, I have made about 7 more!! Have given 3 as presents, and everyone loves them too. I used Cath Kidston scraps for 3 of them. and the leopard skin one is a present for my animal print mad friend who's birthday is this weekend! I changed the pattern to make them slightly larger, and here are the results-
