Hi, I love your room too & am adding this to my bookmarks right away!!! I do have a spare room, but it is full of everyone else's rubbish. It would be a dream come true to have a bright, airy colourful room like yours!! You have given me inspiration a plenty!! After Christmas I will have to make a start!!!!
Love that bag, that material is great!!! You have made a lovely job of the inside zip! Did you buy the fabric from Australia? I think this one's great! I need more practice to make my bags look a bit more professional, but it's a case of sewing when I have time to spare. Whatever!! I enjoy sewing anyway.
My little 10 month old grandaughter , Aaliyah, needed a bag for her swimming costume, and towel. Her mum had been squeezing these items into her nappy (diaper) bag, so I decided to make her a little tote bag of her own. I started at about 7.30 one evening, and didn't get to bed until I finished it!
Its made from a pink starry Cath Kidston fabric, is lined, and has a little calico pocket on it, with Aaliyah's name chain stitched on it, in pastel colours. I also found some little satin applique stars, and I thought they'd be ideal with the starry fabric. I also had some white bias binding with pink hearts on it, so added it as a border around the top. I was pleased with the outcome, mum likes it too. When the little one gets older, she can use it as a book bag.
Hi Bouncyflea! I posted a reply to your great tutorial on 5/11/08, (or 11/5/08). At that time I had made the bag, but didn't know how to post pics. Well, now I do , and here is my Cath Kidston posy version of it
I wanted to use some of the CK corduroy fabric, as it's hard wearing, and would give the bag body. I needed some plain brown cord for the yoke, but hadn't any, so I cut up a pair of old synthetic brown suede look trousers, to do this. This has worked well, after I interfaced it to make it thicker. The handles are corduroy with brown webbing for extra strength. The bag is a zipped version , with a zipped pocket inside, sewn on the lining. Thanks again for the tute, I enjoyed making it!!
Ooooh , I feel hungry now!!!! Love the red accessories, and your fantastic selection of cupcakes! I think your place would be good to go round to tea for!!!! The great thing is, if you ever move, you can take all these with you, and recreate it somewhere else. Happy munching & Happy cupcakes
