Thanks for your reply. I have checked out the Joann's website. and unfortunately they don't ship internationally. But thanks for the details, as I really enjoyed browsing. I wish we had them over here!!! I will have to try Etsy, thanks for being so helpful! Cheesy
A quilting shop near me has had a sale on for the last two weeks, with plain cottons reduced to 4.00 yard, and every other cotton at 5.00 yard ( Usually they are 8.00 yd for patterned & 5.00 yd for plains). Of course , I had to treat myself to some!!! I have even bought a dk blue starry backing fabric for a quilt that I will be starting in the New Year for my 12 yr old son. When I can get decent photos taken, I will have to post them.

Keep on stitchin'!!!

Love it!!! The material, lining & bag are fantastic!! Grin  Just think, when this one gets too full. you can extend the pattern, use a a larger zip, and make another!!!
It's great to be able to make your own bags, in the fabric you like, and the size you like, Also they are one-off originals, cheaper, better made, and unique!!! Who wants a mass produced one anyway!!!

Happy Christmas, and Happy Crafting!!!  Cheesy

I wish there was a Joann's near me, I live in the U.K., and I think it's a U.S chain of shops. : (  But anyway, thanks for letting me know!
I would agree that a sewing machine is a great investment. Just think of all the lovely things you will see on craftster, and will be inspired by, that you can make with a machine. You will be able to make so much more. Have you tried quilting yet? If you enjoy hand sewing , I think you'd enjoy that. With your neat stitching, it would be great.
Actually I have a spare sewing machine in my conservatory, that I don't use. If you lived locally, you'd be welcome to it. Maybe this could be a way of getting a cheap, cost effective machine from where you live. Or, would Santa leave you one next week!!! Wink

Happy sewing & Merry Christmas  Cheesy

19  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / FAT QUARTER SWAP FOR UK CRAFTSTERS on: November 25, 2008 02:33:17 PM
 Cheesy
Hi,
I have never swapped before, but would like to. As it is almost Christmas, would anyone be interested in a fat quarter swap? This wouldn't take too much time or effort, which would be ideal for this busy time of year.  A good idea may be 2, or 4 fat quarters.
As I live in the UK, it would be a lot cheaper for postage, if this one was restricted to UK. I would love to swap with craftsters from other countries, but international postage can be quite expensive.
Would anyone else be interested? It would be great to hear from you!  Grin

Hi all,
The craft shop in Kettering is a good one( Bee inspired) Sells lots of fabric, buttons , beads etc, and they are very helpful. Another good shop is Poppy patch at Earls Barton. They have a great range of fabrics and quilting supplies.
The Rushden & Diamonds car boot sale is a good one. It is on every Sunday morning, and one good thing about it, is that it isn't set up on a field, so you dont get wet and muddy, also it is quite a big one.
Apparently there is a good arts & crafts market in the old Fishmarket in Northampton. Haven't got to that yet, but would like to.
