So here are some of my latest creations. I've just been using the usual scrapbooking paper and stamps. I'd love to hear what you guys think.
These are my favourites:

(sorry this one got a little washed out in the picture, but I promise it looked nice and not lumpy!):

These were made quickly for thank you notes:

2  Valentine's Day Felt Fortune Cookies in Valentine's Day by Watermelon.Tasha on: May 18, 2009 04:22:50 PM
So this is long overdue. For Valentines day (being the ridiculous crafter that I am), I was completely inspired by Martha Stewart's felt fortune cookies idea. I followed her instructions (http://www.marthastewart.com/goodthings/felt-fortune-cookie), copied some silly fortunes from the internet and here is the end result. I made a trip to the dollar store for glue gun refills and bought a couple of bags of twisted Hershey's kisses and was left with a basket of these to hand out to all of my friends at school. Project pro: They make really unique and fun valentines. Project con:it was sort of time consuming (so I did it in front of the television while watching Angel- I recommend a gorgeous distraction Wink ) and on the way to school all of the kisses were falling out and the cookies all had to be fixed before handing them out. Everyone loved them and I made all my friends close their eyes and pick one randomly for added/geeky effects, would pretty much recommend this to anyone.

The originals (flawless styled by Martha and her staff):

3  Modest Mouse Shirt (IMG Heavy) in Stenciling: Completed Projects by Watermelon.Tasha on: August 16, 2008 03:18:37 PM
So I love Modest Mouse, and decided to try my hand at stencilling the image from their album: We Were All Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. I used freezer paper and a mix of acrylic paint and textile medium. I made it about a month ago, but It's taken me a while to actually post it. This is my second freezer paper project and I'd love to hear what everyone thinks.

4  My Newest Pieces (Green & Silver) - IMG HEAVY in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Watermelon.Tasha on: July 08, 2008 04:19:19 PM
So I went to Michael's intending to just buy stuff for stencilling, and ended up buying these green beads (half price, only $5 for two strands!), a set with a pendant and two miniature versions ($1.50), and links ($1.50 for a mixed box of like 15). It was such a killer deal that I couldn't pass up, so I made a necklace, some earrings, and added a jump ring and chain to the pendant.

I'd love to hear what you think, comments and criticism are alsways appreciated!

Here is the necklace, sorry I cut my head off because I was having a bad hair day.

I loved these, so I made a pair for myself, and one for my friend.

5  Stenciled Jonas Brothers T-Shirt in Stenciling: Completed Projects by Watermelon.Tasha on: July 08, 2008 02:37:17 PM
So I have seriously wanted to try stencilling, and since my sister loves the Jonas Brothers, I thought their logo would be great for my first try. I was inspired by a Craftster post (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=227938.0) by pinkpoodle230, and gave it a try using 3 seperate freezer paper stencils. I think it turned out well for a first try, and I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts!

Ps- I altered the orignal a bit, since there were so many details, and I was getting frustrated with the stencil.

6  Please HELP? Seriously confusing Modest Mouse stencil. in Stenciling: Discussion and Questions by Watermelon.Tasha on: July 06, 2008 09:05:56 AM
I love Modest Mouse, but am not a big fan of buying over the internet (still find it sketchy) so after hearing about how simple stencilling with freezer paper is (through Craftster), I thought I would give it a shot. So I went and bought freezer paper, foam brushes, and fabric paint (I already have acrylic to mix), but I'm having serious problems trying to do this stencil. I really want to make my shirt look like this one (from their website):

So I made this stencil (ignore the black markings to the bottom left, I work on a Mac and can't figure out how to crop it out). My problem from here is that I tried to cut out the outline, and take the borders of stickers and cut the white parts on to them (so I could stick them on inside the outline. I don't know if I'm making any sense, but If someone could please help me, I'd be so grateful. I would like to know how you stencilling experts would go about doing this.

7  Microscope Slide Necklaces (One is Firefly themed) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Watermelon.Tasha on: June 23, 2008 03:57:52 PM
So after looking around craftster for a while and I got up the nerve to make an account and post some of my stuff (I mainly do cards, clothes and jewellery).

A few burns later, here are two of my most recent projects: the soldered (double sided) microscope slide necklaces. I bought a soldering iron (with copper tape and lead free rosin core solder included) at Michaels for like $15 and got the microscope slides (40 for $5) at a science store; still have to learn how to use my glass cutter though... Anyways, First is my
Firefly/Serenity necklace which I made for myself for the Toronto 'Can't Stop the Serenity' screening. One side says "May have been the losing side, still not sure it was the wrong one. Browncoats" and the other says "Shiny lets be badguys". The second necklace (featuring a map and some flowered scrapbook paper) was a present for my friend's birthday (alongside a group present of two Eagles tickets).

So what do you think?

And whats a birthday present without a card? (The 'E' is for Elspeth) and I stamped the envelope with the words: "Who, What Where, When".

A bit of a weird reflection coming off the red chair...

And then I made it all clean and shiny and put it in a mock Chinese food box.

Thanks for stopping by!
