4  J & T Challenge 2 - Summer Green Charm Bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by CostumeCat on: June 17, 2010 05:13:46 PM
Hi! I wasn't sure about doing this challenge but this bracelet just came together on its own  Smiley When I think of summer I think of big green trees and sun shinning. This bracelet makes me think of those things.

The main bracelet is a chainmaille euro 4 in 1 weave of green aluminum rings. I built up attaching green scales, then a variety of green glass leaves, Finally mixed in are mix of light and dark green swarovski crystals. Lastly I wove a strand of green beads through the chainmaille for added interest and shine.

I hope you like it!

I received from ShannonMB and Nobodyhasthisoneyet today! My themes were cats, dragons, and comics (superhero type)

From ShannonMB

I love the kitty with the fang hanginging out, looks like one of my kitties planning something evil  Cheesy
Your husband is a great artist! Please thank him! I love them all  Grin

From Nobodyhasthisoneyet

The cats are so cute! The puffy orange kitty is great! She has sparkly eyes a bit hard to tell in the pic.

The dragons are green sparkly, again hard to tell, but they are so great I keep looking at them and thinking nom nom nom  Grin

Thank you both!!!

Sorry the pics aren't great  Roll Eyes I'm having one of thoses evil camera days and the last 2 pics were rotated and are doing that funny thing, hope they fix themselves soon!

Progress pic!

The big pink square with white trim will be my centre it's about 3x3, the black square is 2x2 and I'll be making 3 more of those. I've got 2 whites done, and 4 green. I'm going to make a bunch of grey with pink centres ( 1 done) and all those centres are done piled in the back. Think I've got a good chunk done, but I have to admit I'm losing some steam  Tongue

I'm first! Weee!

Ok, I must warn there are a lot of pictures here, everything was just so awesome, it deserved many photos!

To begin! Sapphire is awesome. Seriously. She sent me a CD full of backgrounds for my computer. She asked for my desktop dimensions at the begining, which I completely forgot about. Some she made from scratch, some she edited and some resized, all in characters I said I liked - which was not a small list! I have gone through them so many times, and have got my choice (for now  Wink ) down to 2. I have to add that this is extra awesome, because I have a big widescreen monitor and it's a pain to put backgrounds on that don't get distorted or are tiny floating in the middle. My back ground was just plain green, pretty sad. But these are perfect!!! I would love to take pictures of all of them, but then this would be a huge post, and I'm already rambling! Here's pics of my 2 favs for now...

You'll notice at the bottom right corner there's a red card.  This was the card she sent me with a great letter inside. I love this card. Thus, pics!!

Outside...

Inside...

Ok, now to the "meat" of the goodies!

I was asked if I liked totes or purses better, I said both, and look what I got!

First a sweet tote, with a Xaviers School button on it which was made of shrinky dink. - My camera washed the pics out a bit it's really a nice solid black

Inside - with a clip, which I love!

Then a matching wallet - look at the tiny X buttons she made!

Then a matching zip pouch - with tiny X!!!!!

And then, When I thought everything above was amazing, I pulled this out...

It's a clutch with a gold chain wrist strap that is made of comics (iron man which I love) all woven and sealed.  It is freaking amazing!!!!

With candy inside!

Other side

And after all that, there was still more!!!!

A complete set of the Lantern Corp Buttons out of shrinky dink!

A second pic so you can see the ones my flash washed out

Finally in this never ending "Bag 'O' Loot"  Grin

A green t-shirt that was going to be soming else that didn't come to be, but she sent me the t anyways for me to do what I like with  Grin A set of marvel stickers, A tin of mints that says crafty girl on it  Cheesy and a metal book mark with a black cat on it (my cat just died and he was black, so this was really nice - and she didn't even know!)

Sorry this went on forever, but I loved everything, and feel so incredibly spoiled! Wow, swap anxiety anyone??!!!!  Wink

Thank you so much Sapphire, you were a great partner!!!!

9  Re: Witch/Wicca/Pagan Swap Round 11 May Pole Madness Gallery of Joy! in The Swap Gallery by CostumeCat on: April 25, 2009 05:57:25 PM
I received my package from Ronda on Friday!!!! It is amazing, I was so spoiled!!!!!

First off I got a lovely wooden bowl as my "basket" Grin She also sent me a set of mini stone alter dishes, They are so beautiful! Pictures do not do any of the things she sent justice!!!

She also sent me a set of jewelry. I can not say enough about it. The bracelet is one of her magnetic ones, it's so awesome, my man keeps stealing it to play with the magnets!!! It fits perfect, I love to colours, everything!!!!

As well she sent another pair of earrings!!

And...... Some rocks!!!!

Everything is great!!! I know I'm gushing, but I can't help!!! She made the jewelry with stones I picked and told her were my favs, even the pendant she picked because she felt it had an egyptian feel to it and she was right, and she sent me info on all the stones! I love it!!!!!!!! Grin

Sorry the pictures are a bit blurry I'm having one of those shaky hand days  Tongue

ps. Ronda you're supposed to pretend the big tote bag is your basket  Wink I'm glad you liked everything, because you were the best swap partner ever!

10  Re: The Crazy for Mental Wellness Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by CostumeCat on: August 25, 2008 09:09:53 PM
Hi everyone!  I'm posting some pics of the stuff I sent my partner, tabzilla. She received it, but said she was having trouble finding her camera, so I hope she doesn't mind...

An origami flower ball, my first one! It's supposed to hang, help with zen. Didn't think it would end up as big as it did...40 odd flowers later! The instructions were in japanese and I had to get my man to help me put it together.

Then I made a thought box.  Sometimes you just need a place to put the thoughts that are trying to get away.. or get up to no good! Covered the top with comic word bubbles.

A couple chainmaille bracelets, my first time with the weaves. For when you need to show the world who's boss! I even spun and cut the rings myself!

And finally a neat bottle filled with lucky stars. I found paper that said best wishes in gold printed on them, and cut out some strips of other colors on my own to fill in the rest. I wanted her to have as many good wihes as possible.

And I made a couple catnip bags for her cat "overlords" from mine  Grin Originally there were three...two were sent, one magically vanished  Roll Eyes

Ok, I was having massive OCD doing this. But I do feel a bit bad, she asked for something soft and nothing was  Embarrassed Sorry tabzilla, soft isn't my specialty  Sad
