1  COOKING / Dessert / GO PACK GO- Super Bowl Cookies!!! on: February 06, 2011 09:25:19 AM
It's finally SUPER BOWL Sunday!!!
To celebrate I've made game day cookies and I couldn't be more excited to share them with you : )

To decorate my Super Bowl cookies I used a combination of Wilton's FoodWriters and Royal Icing. I love the way the FoodWriters look on my NFL logo cookie. It was a lot easier to use the markers then having to make two more different colors of icing just to get the blue and the red.

To get the Lombardi trophy I made my own cookie templates.  I added luster dust to my Lombardi trophy to really get it to shine!

This last one was a request from my fiance- jokingly he said you should do one with Rodger's championship belt.... We are by no means WWF fans (not at all) but if you're a Packer fan you'll appreciate this one!

Lets go Packers- bring the Lombardi trophy home!!!
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Ridiculously long engagement... on: July 09, 2009 08:03:37 AM
Wow! There is some really good advice from everyone out there!

I too will be faced with a really long engagement.  We just got engaged about a week and a half ago and don't plan on getting hitched until Sept. 2011.  I have a year left of school and don't want to start a career and have all those last minute wedding plans three months after I graduate.  We're also waiting so that we can be financially on our own feet after college and before married life.

Unfortunately..... most of my family doesn't understand this reasoning and would rather have us get married next year.  It doesn't help trying to explain the college reason to relatives when my older sister got married in the fall when she was still in school- she got married over the weekend and had to go back to class that Monday!!! No Thanks!!!

Has anyone experienced similar problems? Or have any advice for me as how to deal with this situation?
-Thanks!

I received my package from dharma_rebel a few days ago Grin It was a very nice suprise to by very busy school week!!! As promised I'm FINALLY getting to posting all the wonderful pics!!!
She defiantly spoiled me, prepare to be wowed!!!

First of all she had everything wrapped in brightly colored tissue paper, with lots of ribbons that will definitely be reused!

With a beautiful little owl card for me

First I opened a beautiful plaid scarf with a owl applique on the front... I've worn it everyday so far since I've received it

She added an extra matching owl applique for me to use on another project

Then I opened the cutest little owl stuffie that she made from a felted sweater

Isn't he cute!!!

Next was her thrift store find--- an absolutely adorable owl container

This little guy is now occupying a place on my desk

Rachel made me not one but two notebooks

Then she found me a great owl candle that will definitely never be burned

Next was a set of beautiful cards that matched the first card I opened, she even made the envelope to hold the pack of cards

Then for my knitting a set of very cute owl stitch markers (sorry the pic didn't turn out very well)

And my favorite was an adorable needle roll with soooooo many pockets- I love it!!! The detailing of the applique on the front is amazing!!!

She also included a bookmark with the notebooks, the same one that eye_on _sparrow received from her partner- the picture that I took of it just didn't turn out that well.

Thank You so much for everything dharma_rebel!!! Everything is beautiful, you were an amazing partner for my first swap--- it was a lot of fun!!!
