I was browsing this forum and thought I would share a couple of quilts a friend and I did this year.
The first is the star quilt. This was our first attempt at a real quilt for both of us. We even had to research the binding before we did it. The pattern was supposed to be paper piece but pfffftttt we just pieced it
Turned out great.
The second quilt we did started a fabric hunt for a quilt for a male coworker. He's a huge John Deere fan. I called my friend from the states to ask "Do you think his wife has a sense of humour?? Cuz I"m looking at John Deere fabric!"
I thought it was going to be a tacky joke kind of quilt but it turned out quite nice! EVerything was John Deere even the backing.
Well, that was after we unstitched the table cloth from it. :/ As we were machine quilting, it was getting tough and suddenly the machine stopped. We thought it was just thick where the seam was. Then we looked under the quilt to find taht the flannel pulled up the linen tablecloth and we had sewn a good 6 inches onto the quilt
We laughed so hard. And he has a great story to tell about his quilt.
