1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: The Loyal(Royal) Mutant Swap of 2014!!--Science Fair/Gallery on: March 04, 2014 02:08:25 PM

My parcel arrived!!!  Grin Grin
I LOVE it, it is the most wonderful thing I have ever received in a swap. Everything about it is perfect, all the things I love in a one-of-a-kind just-for-me painting Cheesy I have been wanting custom art like this for so long and what PJ created for me is so exciting. I am having it framed and it will be a feature on my bedroom wall.

Included 'loved things' were:
My greyhound Tori
1050's Space Age
Carnivorous plants
Mojave Desert
The colour yellow and glow in the dark. Tori's space suit and the dome of the space ship are painted with glow in the dark paints! Wow!!

The story is the space ship captained by my dog Tori had an accident somewhere around one of Jupiter's moons, they crash landed and Tori went exploring whilst the other space greyhounds repaired the ship (look close, they have little blow torches and other tools they are fixing the ship with!) when suddenly she encountered the local plant life!

Here is a picture of Tori with her space fairing alter ego:

I am overjoyed that you like her! Grin Grin I'm proud of the way she turned out since I've never tried to work wire or sew much before.

I combined two things from PJ's list, Kangaroos (which I thought would be perfect because I live in Australia) and fairies. I did think of removing her tail and giveing her a dragon's or a fox's but I didn't want it turning out looking too garish because PJ requested a cute mutant so I thought it best to keep the cross breeding simple and choose only two things.

Her wings are pre-painted craft wire (pink) and sheer curtain material, the sequins were strung together by hand and then machine sewed on and then the whole lot was painted in glitter glue before being hand sewn on to the victim, err 'patient' who was captured from the wild (souvenir store) her antenna are also pre-painted craft wire and were hand sewn in. Her wand is made of foam but it looks like the glue didn't hold in transit  Sad I used glitter glue on her ears as well.

Yes  Smiley

You have a G3 (generation three) pony made between 2003 and 2009. The magnet is for use with the playsets (houses and castles) and will activate things like hidden doors and make music play.

Most of these are very common so it's ok to use a beat up one for customs but be careful if the pony has TWO hearts on the magnetic foot because those are rare prototypes or a rare special edition only sold in Australia. Very rare though so I doubt you'd come accross one in a thrift store or the like.

Ponies that have more elaborate hoof symbols such as a heart with stars or leaves are 1st Editions and are worth a bit more but they are not that hard to find.

I love the Bowie Pony!

And yes it's good to check which pony you have before you do anything to it as some G1's are worth a fortune. I do collect MLP's but I'm very specific about it, not just any pony will do... I like the crazy "I was made in the 80's and it's super obvious by my huge hair doo" type ponies Cheesy I have all the perfume puffs: http://thumbs3.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mWr3unGltFD99nNM6to2Lwg.jpg a small bank was robbed for this lump of plastic!
I have them in all colours of the eighties hair rainbow: http://www.ponyology.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/imagefield-cycle-large/SDC10522_2.jpg

This is a great site for identifying which pony you have and how rare it is: http://www.kimsites.net/dreamvalley/index.html

I've never made a mutant before.

Then again I've never sewn or tried to manipulate wire before either. I didn't bother practicing with the needle before I approached the 'patient' as I thought it would add to the mutant effect.

It did. MWAHAHAHAHAHA! Shocked

(don't worry PJ it's really not as bad as it sounds, I know you wanted cute and not creepy. I made it a beautiful creature) Smiley

maybe not a generic Disco outfit...unless your partner had "generic Disco outfits" on their like list.

Umm yep, I sort of did!  Tongue

Get the gallery ready.... I'ma sending TODAY!  Cheesy

I was struck by unstoppable inspiration after reading my partner's ingredient list and suddenly *BAM* a mutant appeared! Shocked

I see we have been given extra time but I don't see why I can't ship him off now since he's ready.
I can't wait until my partner sees this crazy thing I've created, I'm so pleased with the way it turned out.

Woohoo! Just got my partner and after a quick stalk I already have a picture in my head of what I am going to do Grin

I had to laugh at her instructions:
Just take a zoo, give it various legs and wings and you've got it
-PJ
Because if you took every single animal in a big zoo and mixed them all together you would get one epic looking creature! Tongue
