2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Impulse buys are only ever trouble... Help with reconstructing! on: May 11, 2009 11:00:37 AM
I hope this is the right place to put this???

I bought this shirt on impulse because I really liked the graphic and was going to reconstruct it (into another shirt)-http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10937342
But I have no idea how I should reconstruct it, because the graphic is quite large. (It is a large boy's shirt, so the graphic takes up over 2/3 of my front.) I've tried thinking of ways to avoid cutting into the graphic, but the only things I could think of were tube tops and tube-top like tanktops, which I don't like. So I am looking for other top designs where I can preserve the graphic. I am pretty confident in my sewing skills, so I am up to tackling anything.

Also, the color of the t-shirt is hard to compliment. I've tried pulling colors from the graphic, but they never seemed to look right.

So... Help in any way?
Impulse buys really are only trouble sometimes...
3  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Re: DIY Knee-high chucks? on: April 08, 2009 07:07:06 PM
OMG THANK YOU! =D
I'll combine the two tutes, since my shoes aren't all one color. (They are pinstriped)
Thank you x10000000!!!
4  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / DIY Knee-high chucks? on: April 08, 2009 08:22:39 AM
I want to make my own knee-high chuck-style shoes, since I can't possibly pay $40-$60 for a pair. I plan on doing this by re-covering some old chuck knockoffs (low top) I've got that have seen better days.
The only problem is...

1. I have no clue what I can make the pattern off of since I don't own anything that high.
2. No clue what kind of fabric I should use
3. I've got only one tutorial for re-covering low tops to help me- http://www.chezlin.com/2008/09/oh-my-god-shoes/

Ok, so that's three problems... But you get the idea.
Help?

That reversible jacket is amazing! I especially love the orange. =D
The agile is spiffy too, somehow the green makes me think of the recycling arrows.
