11  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Pricing these flowers on: October 10, 2011 09:39:08 AM
I've recently started an etsy store in hopes to raise money for a missions trip that I am going on next year. I have been making fabric flower brooches and hair pins for myself for a while, so I figured why not sell them? The only problem? I have absolutely no idea how to price them.

I need your help craftsters. How much would you price these items for?

#1:flowers

#2: Headband (not pictured, I also have rosette headbands)

#3: fascinator

I have several of each item in many different colors and styles. They are pretty inexpensive to make (less than $1 per item, save for the fascinators, which were about $1.50 to make), so I would like to list them at a price that would appeal to most people. However, I would also like to make some money off of them, because the trip is going to cost between five and seven thousand dollars(it's to Africa, btw).

bluwave, I know how you feel. I have been swamped with school work these past couple of weeks. I have three classes that are completely graded on exams, and I've had an exam every week this month. Even have one on Monday.

As for the swap, I am not even close to being done yet. However, I am really good at getting things done in the last minute, so I know that once my exam is over on Monday, I will have no problem finishing things in time for the send out.

I read this article a while back and really liked it. Thought my fellow zombie enthusiasts would too.

If it was a spider I would definitely buy one. Roaches, unfortunately, are just not my thing.

Got most of my supplies today. My big item should be done by then end of the week. I have never seen anything like it anywhere, so it will be a neat, one of a kind, convertible ________ /__________... I will probably have to work on my other items at the end of next week, because I have a couple exams next Monday and Tuesday, but everything should be done with plenty of time to mail out, so no worries.

Crossbows won't really decapitate, though, and unless you hit the right spot, the arrow wouldn't be able to penetrate the skull. Me, I'd use a silenced sniper rifle.

I have been in an accessory making mood lately, and tonight I managed to make a few new things. In the process, I also managed to hot glue my fingers together. Ouch! They are unstuck now, but I think that I will give them a day's rest before I decide to get to crafting again.

Pray for me guys...I have decided to undertake my first ever ________ project as one of my swap items. This will be interesting for me, as I have very little patience with myself when it comes to making mistakes, which I know I will make several of.

I have to finish a couple essays this week, then I am throwing down on my crafting. I will be getting supplies for the __________ either tomorrow or Tuesday, and it/they (got to keep the suspense) will take a couple of days to finish.
20  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: How do I pin a button badge on card stock without mangling it? on: September 10, 2011 07:18:21 PM
I usually use a small exacto knife to cut little slits into the card stock about 1/2 an inch away from each other (maybe smaller or bigger depending on the size of your pin back). Then you just slide the pin in one slit and out of the other.
