31  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: "with real moveable parts" on: March 25, 2005 10:46:02 AM
so, if its to be in a gallery, are people going to be allowed to touch it? and if they are, it really should be allowed to withstand a good amount of wear, as some people aren't as careful as one would think. But if you made thi interactive peice for a gallery where its not to be touched, isnt that confounding the meaning of the peice?

i also really like the view where the sides are peeled back, i thought of someone in open heart surgery. maybe sound would be good, a blur between a heartbeat and a clock ticking or something. But thats just my opnion. but it really depends on what you're trying to say and whether or not it gets across at least some of what you want it to.

i do like the milti-medianess of it, and applaud you on the moving parts. is it a real working clock? not that the cogs should work, but it would be neat if the hands moved.

ok, well... i haven't been in a real critique for a while, so i hope i helped at least a little.

i'm totally going to make a button one, this is a totally unexplored area for me... crafting for my car. haha....... but i think an epoxy would be better than hot glue if its goign to be outside and exposed to the elements and driven around at 80 miles an hour? but let me know how the hot glue holds up...

36  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: a new x-mas wreath on: November 19, 2004 12:45:28 AM
i made one of these so called "angel wreaths" this weekend....... i think its pretty, and its soft. *yay*

it was rather affordable with 40% off joanns coupons

styrofoam wreath form wrapped in white ribbon, wrapped two feather boas *one big lush one, and a cheap maribou one) around and pinned in place, then hung a pretty silver star with "peace" engraved on it in the middle.

i cant wait until after thanksgiving to hang it up
