I love that pattern! And the color is perfect, great job!

I'm relatively new to knitting and by no means a master knitter, but I think the easiest thing would be to knit the sides of the plug flat, then sew them together and stuff with some fiberfill or something. I think knitting in the round would make it hard to get the square shape. The seams would help with the shaping.  For the prongs maybe wrap some yarn around a straw or something light? I think an icord would be too floppy. I'm sure someone else has a better technique, but it may work. Good luck and post pics of your costume when you are done!
