This is awesome!  I may have to steal this idea for my bro who loves George Carlin.

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Colorful stepstool! on: August 01, 2011 11:15:44 AM
A few weeks ago I went to see Paul McCartney in concert.  It was amazing!  Among the pyrotechnics and graphics I noticed the awesome piano he was playing throughout the concert.    It was apparently painted by Dudley Edwards, the same artist who consulted for the Yellow Submarine cartoon.  The many bold colors and whimsy really appealed to me.  I've had a plain, unfinished wood stepstool for about 10 years that I've been carting around from apartment to apartment.  I decided to paint it in a little tribute.

Pengy likes it!

And here's the piano.

5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Thoughts on: July 28, 2011 04:56:18 AM
Beautiful!  I love the details on the hair and the way you gave the shirt so much movement and depth.  I'm glad to hear you got your creative groove back, I'm sure it must be a relief to you. I love the quote, "just start and the rest will come", I'll have to remember that.
6  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: My purple and green butterfly quilt, first sewing project on: July 22, 2011 04:50:38 PM
I don't think it' garish at all, I love the purple and green together!  How did you add the butterflies?
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Nintendo coffee table *extremely pic heavy* on: September 14, 2010 02:44:24 PM
Wow!  That's really amazing!  Did you plan the layout in advance, or did you just make it up as you went along?
8  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Native American Morning Star Quilt on: May 31, 2010 04:37:57 AM
Hi everyone!

I am a fairly experienced (I'd say intermediate level) quilter considering a native American morning star quilt.  I have heard that they are incredibly difficult with all of those bias edge pieces.  Have any of you made one of these before?  Do you have any advice or book/pattern recommendations for me?  Any help would be appreciated!
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Super-Cheery Retro Apron on: February 11, 2010 12:49:40 PM
Super cute!  Did you use a specific pattern or did you make it up yourself?
