I'm a little giddy because this my first project post Shocked Grin

My dd's school holds an annual Spring Carnival and each class auctions off themed baskets to help raise money for the PTA.  As room-mom for her class I chose the theme "Knitting for Knewbies and Know-it-alls".  I made a Sanibel-esque work bag (totally lifted from dellastella's fab fancy flea market bag, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=332817.0) and needle roll as part of the basket and here it is...

It measures 18 x 5.5 x 11 inches and has pockets on ALL sides...

Needle slots in the three front pockets, and even more pockets on the inside.

The needle roll/fold and the closure on the front.  Yes, all those lovely 13" bamboo needles were part of the basket Smiley

and just cause I think they're purrdy, the stitch markers I made to match Wink

It was a fun project and I like it so much that I've already started cutting to make one for me Cheesy

First off, I'd like to say that this is awesome and is currently on my list of Things-to-do-next-Christmas  Wink

Second, but in no way the least... I LOVE that gum!  As a kid, my day wasn't complete without a visit to the village Mom & Pop store to buy a handful of those fragrant and flavorful pieces of heaven.  My mom still puts them in the care packages she sends me.  I mean really, who wouldn't love a gum that came with tattoo just for you Grin Grin

LIV dolls are articulated, but not ball-jointed.  their joints seem to be hinged.  the small obitsus, i think, are technically mechanical ball jointed, rather than strung ball jointed.  i like all kinds of dolls, i like to look at the way they are engineered, as well as play with them. i have some of the barbie-size obitsus that i put different heads on and i bought 3 LIVs when they were on clearance and am doing some head-swapping with them, too.

OMG, I think you started something...  After reading this and your pm I spent most of last night googling like mad.  The result:  A purchase of 3 sets of 10mm eyes and three 5/6 wigs, AND I'm currently trying to decide between getting an SD13, an MSD, or an obitsu50.  Hubby says I have to wait a month or 2 and if I still have the bug then I can indulge. *sigh*  It all started with a Liv doll...  Grin

Do Liv dolls count?  I bought one for my daughter for christmas, fell in love with it, bought one for myself, and have been sewing like crazy for them Wink  I won't be able to join this swap, but I will be stalking Smiley

20  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Altered Journal-a-long on: December 29, 2009 08:30:20 AM
after the rush of the holidays, i finally have a new spread. i cant for the life of me get a good picture of it though.
can anyone guess what inspired this page?

I know I'm not part of this Journal-a-long, but I had to butt in because...

Labyrinth is one of my All-Time-Favorite movies, and this page pays spectacular homage to one of my favorite scenes in Labyrinth Wink

Awesome job!  I love it Smiley
