1  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Fimo Deco Gel/TLS? on: April 28, 2010 03:03:13 AM
I've been wanting to try whipped cream and I was wondering if there is any difference between the two... I saw on a site that FDG goes clear but TLS keeps the colour, would it do the same thing if I just put in normal polymer clay?

Also, could I mix Fimo and TLS? Would it be fine to bake Fimo with TLS on top?
2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Removing print from a t-shirt? on: March 30, 2010 07:28:11 AM
I dunno if this is the right place to post this but is it possible to remove print from one part of a t-shirt? Its the kind of raised up t-shirt print... I'm not quite sure on any other details as I'm posting this because someone asked me to Smiley
3  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Body butter is a rock, how can I soften it? on: December 15, 2009 09:44:17 AM
So I made http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=181837.0 and I just used 8 oz instead of 4 and 6oz instead of 3, and well even after its been in the living room for a while its still like a rock as in pressing hard doesn't even really make a dent in it... Is there anything I can add to make it softer? I used unrefined cocoa butter if that makes any difference apart from the smell...
4  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Body butter scent and preservative question on: December 06, 2009 06:14:45 AM
I've been thinking of making my Mom this for Christmas http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=181837.0 and I was wondering if the scent from the oils would be enough or if I should use an EO to scent it.

Some people put preservatives into their creams and stuff, will I need to in this?

Also, I'd like to buy my oils in a shop rather than online, so does anyone know where in Manchester I can buy things like this without spending my life savings in Holland and Barrett?
5  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / CP Soap Hardening Question on: November 28, 2009 03:20:10 AM
I tried soap making for the first time yesterday, and 18 hours in from adding my soap to my moulds its still rather soft (as in gloopy, unable to demould). I left my moulds in the kitchin overnight with a towel over the top, but I dont think that it was enough to keep the heat in (it was really cold last night as well). I've popped them in front of the fireplace, will they still be able to harden?

Edit: I put cling film over the top to stop white stuff, could it stop my soap from hardening?
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Purple and Blue Earrings and Necklace on: October 30, 2009 04:30:14 AM
At first I just made the earrings a bit after my birthday because I got a new set of pliers (with sparkly handles Cheesy) and some other crafty stuff... But yesterday I felt like making something wire related, so I thought I should finally make a matching necklace for the earrings, and here they are.

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Presents for my Mom's 50th (Pic anorexic) on: June 12, 2009 01:46:20 PM
My Mom was 50 recently and she likes it when I make her jewellery (she buys beads and things for me to make her stuff) so I decided to make her a pair of earrings and a matching necklace Smiley Her favourite beads are swarovski hearts so I DIED when the top of one of them chipped xD but its stayed put and I can replace it easy if I want to so its all fine xD

8  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / How can I control this? on: May 23, 2009 08:50:14 AM
I have a Brother LS-2125 sewing machine, and I've been trying out embroidery.

At first, I tried with one type of thread and the upper and lower threads just wer'nt staying together... I tried a thread I usually use, and this made it a little better, but there was still huge sections where the stitches would be randomly huge, but that was cos the needle seemed to go in and just come out without a stitch being made.

Is it something I'm doing or is there something I need to do to the machine?
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Wire Wrapped Quartz Pendant on: May 03, 2009 05:04:34 PM
Today I finally got round to wrapping this clear quartz. This is the second pendant I've made, and the first that hasn't been drilled Smiley

It was fiddly, but I'm glad that its finished xD

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / How should I go about pixie skirt type netting? on: March 01, 2009 04:53:52 AM
As my first ever sewing project I've made a circle skirt, but the fabric I used is a little seethrough Lips sealed So underneath I want to put some netting, which is going to have some angular type bits coming from it like a pixie skirt... I've seen some people just use a big square, and I've also seen some people sew together tie shapes...

So, are there any more techniques, and do any of them make the skirt look "poofier"?
