21  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Presents for my Mom's 50th (Pic anorexic) on: June 12, 2009 01:46:20 PM
My Mom was 50 recently and she likes it when I make her jewellery (she buys beads and things for me to make her stuff) so I decided to make her a pair of earrings and a matching necklace Smiley Her favourite beads are swarovski hearts so I DIED when the top of one of them chipped xD but its stayed put and I can replace it easy if I want to so its all fine xD

Well, I'm in favor of the 27th but if its on the 20th then thats alright, I might just be a little sleepy xD

I'm coming, but you knew that already xD

Maybe we can buy like really bright coloured t-shirts over our normal clothes and take them off after we've all met up?

When I'm doing normal sewing its fine, and also when I sew normal onto this fabric its fine and also on stuff after trying this out it was fine... Its just when I try and do embroidery...
25  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / How can I control this? on: May 23, 2009 08:50:14 AM
I have a Brother LS-2125 sewing machine, and I've been trying out embroidery.

At first, I tried with one type of thread and the upper and lower threads just wer'nt staying together... I tried a thread I usually use, and this made it a little better, but there was still huge sections where the stitches would be randomly huge, but that was cos the needle seemed to go in and just come out without a stitch being made.

Is it something I'm doing or is there something I need to do to the machine?

Its a shame I didnt see this thread in about November, because thats when I got my sewing machine for 60 in a sale in TJ Huges xD But I heard you can get it for about 80 in argos http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4600176/c_1/1|category_root|Gifts|12108002/c_2/2|cat_12108002|Art+and+crafts|12108013/c_3/3|cat_12108013|Sewing+machines+and+accessories|12108014.htm

Its my first sewing machine too, and its pretty easy to learn everything you need to know... Most of the screws open with a penny ('cos we dont know what a screwdriver is, aparently xD) and you get pretty much all the feet your gonna need in the accessory pack that you get with it.

From transporting it from my bedroom to my living room for use, I've also found its great instead of lifting weights, lol Tongue

It is easy apart from keeping the gem in place xD I had to use celotape to keep the gem in place while I wrapped the top...

I was thinking of adding a bead onto the longest bit coming down Smiley

Today I finally got round to wrapping this clear quartz. This is the second pendant I've made, and the first that hasn't been drilled Smiley

It was fiddly, but I'm glad that its finished xD

I was using Crystal Sheen, I was pouring it into my ice cube tray, puttin on my glitter and stuff, and then it begins to smoke xD and it got hot too, but that might have just been the heat of the sun.

So, my question is, is it meant to do that? It mentions it in the instructions but I cant tell if its a good thing or not xD its not liquidy anymore, its kinda hard on top. If you poke it with a cocktail stick it makes a little dent in it, which it corrects a little.

So, is this going okay or is there something I'm doing wrong xD?
