4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Rigby Hat on: September 30, 2012 12:11:03 PM

I love Regular Show....and character hats. So after some head scratching I came up with this idea for a Rigby hat.
I think it came out pretty well, but I'm not as happy with it on a head as I am off. Maybe I need to make my dimensions a tad bit smaller. No matter, my son loves it, and that makes me happy Smiley

8  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Pocket Owl on: August 19, 2012 11:13:55 AM

I sprained my foot a few days ago, and have been laid up since Tuesday night. I've made four of these already Smiley

You'll need:
G hook
F hook
2 different shades of yarn
2 small buttons
a small amount of felt
stuffing

Worked in rounds

EYES:
use F hook
make a magic ring
5 sc into magic ring(5)
2 sc into every sc(10)
fasten off, leave a long tail for weaving
sew buttons to  center

BODY:
use G hook
make a magic ring
6 sc into magic ring (6)
2sc into every sc (12)
(1 sc, 2sc into next sc) 6 times (18)
(sc, sc, 2 sc into next sc) 6 times (24)
(sc, sc, sc, 2sc into next sc) 6 times (30)
(sc, sc, sc, sc, 2 sc into next sc) 6 times (36)
sc around for 4 rounds
(sc in 4 sc, decrease next 2)  6 times (30)
sc around for 6 rows
(sc in 3 sc, decrease next 2) 6 times (24)
sc around for 3 rows
fasten off,  leave long tail for sewing

sew eyes to body about 4 rows down
stuff body, leaving top corners unstuffed
bring top together and whip stitch closed.
Cut a small triangle from felt and hot glue under the eyes.

You now have your own Pocket Owl.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Summer PJs on: July 09, 2012 07:05:57 AM

(sorry about grainy pic, my camera needs batteries)

We've had quite a heatwave here recently, and my son only has pajamas with pants. I suggested he wear only his pj shirts, or no pj's at all. But he's a very particular kid, and would not hear it.

So I dug through the dark and mysterious craft closet and found two old t-shirts that were close in color. I whipped up some shorts from one, and used McCall's 3199 tank top pattern for the second t-shirt, though it may discontinued now.

Quick and dirty, this project took me just a couple hours in the morning. And now he has his summer pajamas  Smiley
10  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: Dirty white converse into blue leopard print high tops. on: June 05, 2012 06:43:47 AM
Love these. Do you have a special technique for leopard print or do you just wing it?
