21  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: I Have a Disease Round 4 (sign up closed send out 10/12/09) on: September 05, 2009 11:11:25 PM
Oh bronzfrog *hugs* I am so sorry to hear about your cat. Sad I wish I had your package ready to send to get you through your tough times, but I send my love as well as it can be sent via the internet. And I want to hear about how your encounter with the fella went. I hope he was an individual worthy of your company, at least.

And hugs to everyone else, for all your good and bad (and bizarre- holy cow, Lo{ve} that's just nuts!) news. As for me, I have been pushing myself too hard for too long and am faces the consequences with a vengeance, so I have been trying to hibernate and restart my engine, though without sleep that is proving difficult. Oy vey, when will I learn? But, a career placement tests I took in middle school said that I would be suited to be a professional daredevil so I guess it's in my nature to push things to the breaking point. Luckily I can still drop a class without putting me too far behind, meaning I'd only go to class two days a week and still be at school full time, which means more time to recover and more time to craft! It's been a little over a week since I've made something and it feel so weird. My insomnia is really bad at the moment and so I need to wait on the crafty action, at least until next week but I am excited to get back into craftiness.

Wow, I too have never heard of naalbinding before this. It looks so cool, I have to try it. And quinoa is supernaturally good. Mmmm...

That's great news, Songs4Drowning! And you are so kind to take in that rattie. They are such loving animals, you are a wonderful person for giving love back to one in need.

Babalina, I hope you don't get blown away!

And thanks for the good vies, Burgz! I am thinking I'll drop one of my classes and I think it will be a good load.

I got started on the _____ I'm making Bronzfrog. It's my first time working with ______ and it is trickier than I thought it was, even though it has a tricky reputation. I always try new techniques in swaps (I say always, but this is just my second, ha) and I hope my swap partners don't mind my experiments.

So glad you kitty is home, bronzfrog! I'm sure that she can feel your love for her, even if she doesn't show it.

rockmygypsysoul, I can totally relate to you. I used to have an overactive thyroid, a really fast heartrate, and had stomach problems which limited what I could eat and thus was a tiny little thing for years. Then my thyroid and heartrate normaled out, I started on some more meds for pain which can cause weight gain, and my stomach problems got a bit better so I was able to eat more, which are all good things but I gained sixty pounds over the course of a year and a half. I have been working on losing some weight this summer but only managed about two pounds. But at least I stopped gaining weight and I am taking less meds so maybe I'll have better luck. I have a box and part of a closet full of clothes I can't bear to part with but probably will never wear again. I'm thinking of organizing a clothing swap soon though, because I am running out of room! And I am so glad I am crafty because I can use some of it for crafting materials.

Feeling pretty bad today. Didn't get much sleep last night, still recovering from a cold/busy doctor filled week and I start school tomorrow, eep! I'd appreciate ya'll sending some good vibes my way, as I am probably taking on waaaay more than I can handle this semester. Oh well, you never know until you try, right?

Sorry to hear about your cat, bronzfrog, but it's great that you have been working on your hoarding. Just because it looks like there is no progress doesn't mean there isn't progress. Just like with our health. ~~Things are not always what they seem~~ We sickos are mysterious creatures. Wink

Wow guys, you are all making so much progress with so much going on in your lives, I had to double check when the send-out date was to make sure I had enough time, haha. I wish I had a better excuse for having a slow start, but I have been having a good couple of weeks and have been trying to make the most of it, especially since my brother is visiting from New York and there are so many movies out I want to see. So, I guess I do have a "good" excuse, in that I have been feeling "good" (well, as good as I can feel, especially with switching up some of my medication dosages, anyone else ever get the feeling doctors like to do this just for the fun of it, because, uh, I have a chronic illness, it's not like it's going away anytime soon, so why can't we all just be content with feeling "ok" and not aiming for the impossible? Sorry, it just feels like I'm caught in this endless loop of "let's add a little more here and take away a little here... oh that didn't work? Hmm, just go back to how you had it for now and we'll try again next month.")

I have been brainstorming, though, and have a few ideas I think are pretty neat. Some involve puns of the worst (aka BEST!) variety, which are some of my favorite things in the world, as you can probably tell from my past paragraph.  Tongue

Yay hotgluegert! It must be hard to say goodbye, but this is definitely a better goodbye than the alternative.

And my thoughts are with you, babalina! Enjoy those drugs, though!

August is looking like it's going to be an epic month for doctor visits for me, getting blood tests and trying some new meds out. Woo! But I should still have time for a lot of crafting before classes start at the end of the month. I might end up with enough credits to be full time for the first time in years, but I'll have to see how I feel after the first week of classes. I'm going to slowly but surely get that piece of paper that says I'm smart enough for adult society, even if I'm fifty when I do!

Now THIS is a bag that is worth $100! No offense, but the bags on that website look like something I could pick up for less than the cost of your material for the bag you made, not the other way around.
