1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / I'm new at this whole "planning a wedding" thing on: April 11, 2007 01:29:30 PM
I want cool, different invites. I am not a designer, but I have my designer-friend's help. Cool mo de.

Fast forward to me searching on the net. I find awesome paper and designs at mygatsby.com, but they cost a fortune... until i realize, you can buy the paper, buy the cards and envelopes in the colors you want... and buy everything blank

Awesome. Paper, check. Design, check...

So, how the heck do I actually print everything?Huh Huh
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / I can't make up my freaking mind.... on: April 05, 2007 09:18:57 AM
And I know there are some of you out there with me on this.

How do you have a theme, without being to "themey".

Our wedding is going to be gorgeous, in this lovely ballroom... very classy joint...

We kind of introduced this "Rock n Roll" theme to the wedding with our STDs

But now, I am stuck. Where do I go with the Rock and Roll theme?

We were thinking about invites in the shape of records... and that is going to cost us a fortune (and I cannot DIY 200 invites)... then invites in the shape/fashion of concert tickets ...

place cards like old juke box labels...

But what about favors/cake topper? Welcome baskets...toiletry basket, card basket...

I think the idea of it is all awesome... then...

And then... the mind changes gears..

We are getting married on the "Sweetest Day" October 20th.. and I think the candy theme is so much cuter...

Can I just switch gears from the one we introduced early on... to the one we go with?

ARGH! Shocked
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / I want Candy! ( a candy- themed wedding reception, that is!) on: January 07, 2007 12:35:11 PM
I am meeting with a florist ( yikes) next week and want some ideas to bring but work has me quite brain dead.

We are getting married n 10/20/07- it is on a tiny holiday called "The Sweetest Day" so we were going to play on the sweets, candy kind of theme throughout the reception.

The reception place itself is pretty formal, but I am thinking centerpieces, place cards, wedding cake- all candy-themed. I've thought about lollipop stands, gumball machines filled with MMs or conversation hearts.

Thoughts? I am a blank slate ( literally ) and open to any kind of crafty , creative ideas!

wedding planning exhausts me Sad
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / If you live with a Significant Other.... on: April 26, 2005 10:00:11 PM
How do you get your SO to trust your instincts in decorating? My boyfriend and I bought a new home last fall and are now starting to actually do things to it and he doesn't like any of my ideas. I try to draw pictures or give him a mental image... but nope. I mean he won't even let me plant flowers in the front yard..

Help!
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Dad In Law has a project for me... Help! I gotta impress! on: April 26, 2005 09:42:32 PM
My  Father In Law ( for lack of better terms, my live in boyfriend's dad) is an avid golfer. He has a ton of short sleeved pullover shirts that he gets from golf clubs, resorts, tournaments... etc. So... He decided he wanted to do somethign with the patches that are on the breastpockets. he cuts them out and gives them to me like, " you're crafty! do something" and I am at a total loss! here is what I know.
He wants to display them. He is thinking something in a frame he can hang on the wall.

I would like to somehow attach them all together, by sewing or something, but I'm not really sure how or what to do... Suggestions??

thanks!
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Glass coffee table on: November 21, 2004 09:16:55 PM
I am sure this question has been posted many times... but I have this glass coffee table... the glass stays on top of black aluminum legs with little suction cups... it is two parts...

anyway, i was thinking... there has to be Something I can do with this thing! My boyfriend suggested some decoupaging... but I am thinking of trying a mosaic....but I've never done it...

Any suggestions? this thing is screaming for something... and it was free, so if I screw it up, it's not a huge deal!

thanks!
