Omg, I love this idea... a place for the mug and the cookies? Brilliant! I'm gonna have to bookmark this one and use it for a gift to my BIL who is British and subsequently has my sister hooked on afternoon tea.  Wink

Wow, what a great transformation! You're right in that the original was too bright... the subtle coffee dye made a huge improvement and looks great with that vest you made. I especially loved that you took the time to swap the buttons and add some embroidery. I didn't think it'd be that noticeable on the final garment but it looks lovely.  Cheesy

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Stethoscope Bag on: January 16, 2010 09:17:51 PM
I am curious how big you made it? I would like to make one for my friend but I have no clue on the diminsions it would need to be.

Hmm... I would estimate it to be 11" long and 6" wide. I didn't think to take the exact measurements as I was just eyeing it as I went. And like I said, my sis said it was a bit big for just the stethoscope so you could probably make it a tad smaller if you wanted. Post pictures or a link to the post when you're finished - I'd love to see what you come up with!  Cheesy

Totally adorable Smiley!! If she doesn't like it, she has to be crazy Wink

Lol, don't worry, she loved it. She said it was a bit big for just the stethoscope so she's putting her other clinical items in it too. Yay, success! Smiley

Aww, thanks you guys. I can't wait to give it to her...
I had a lot of fun with this one 'cause I love the fabric and not to mention that I have this obsession with felt and button appliqus!  Wink

My sister is in her first year of nursing and I guess she haphazardly throws her stethoscope into her backpack when she's not using it... worried about it getting damaged she asked me to make her a bag/pouch for it. So I decided to make it as a Christmas gift. I came across some Amy Butler fabric in the local fabric store and had to purchase it for just this project. I hope she likes it and I hope the dimensions are correct... I shall soon find out. She's back from visiting her husband in the UK today so I'll probably see her tomorrow.  Cheesy
