This is my first time actually trying to sew something wearable and it seems as if I have (somewhat) suceeded I made a very simple dress with an elastic waistband and an asymmetric hem.



Better look of the hemline:



The problem that I have with it is, in my opinion, it looks somewhat frumpy and handmade (not in the good way). I'm not sure what the exact problem is though. Is it the hemline that isn't working? Should the bottom part be less voluminous or shorter? Or is it just my body that doesn't work with it? I'd love some ideas on how to improve this
