1  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / [RESOLVED] "crafted for pets" board? on: August 19, 2014 11:31:04 AM
Is it possible that I missed it, and there is one already on the site?
If not, there are so many crafters here who adore their pets and craft for them often, that I thought it might be fun to have a board with completed projects and tutorials to share for making things for our furry, scale, or feathered friends?
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / make me a wearable item swap? on: July 19, 2014 07:59:46 PM
what about a swap where one makes 1 large, or two items that can equal a large, wearable item(s)?
there are loads of possibilities! scarf with hat set, shawl, cool tall leg warmers, gloves/mittens & scarf or hat, socks, skirt, hoodie...the list goes on!
could be sewn, gibbous, screen printed/stenciled, knit, crochet, felted...?
what do ya think?
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Fittness/Motivational Swap? on: July 12, 2014 04:26:31 PM
So, what about it? Would anyone out there be interested in a Healthy fitness/motivational swap?
Like swap things that inspire us to do the fitness/healthy things we so love such as hiking, running, swimming, yoga (or want to do and just need a push at times)...just to name a few?

We could swap for things such as....
shirts/head gear with fun quotes or themes of our favorite healthy past time...
motivational quotes on fridge magnets, wall art, bracelets...
an ultra cool fanny pack for those long walks for our keys & ipods...
recipe cards to share our favorite recipes...
fitness journals...
funky leg warmers....
yoga mat bag or tote...

maybe it would be for one large and two smalls? or a large, a medium, and a couple of recipe cards?
What say you?  Smiley
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / When was last Poppet vs Ami swap? on: June 29, 2014 06:47:00 PM
Would anyone out there be interested in another poppet vs ami swap?
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / How do you finish off your wire wrap jewelry? on: June 07, 2014 10:33:26 PM
IF you are making a pendant, ring, what have you, do you wrap, wrap, tuck or do you always solder the ends?
What do you do to make sure there aren't any prickle end pieces to make your creation comfy for the wearer?
6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Prayer/ Bible Scripture quilt block swap? (done before?) on: June 06, 2014 08:35:01 AM
I have seen the prayer flags etc. and they are great! And then I got to thinking, wouldn't it be awesome to do a prayer/scripture quilt block swap and eventually have a quilt (mini or not) full of wonderful scriptures and words of inspiration to wrap up in? (or hang on the wall)
We could have the blocks maybe a 12x12 in size and it can be swapping with one partner or two even so we have more to piece together? I figure with a couple of rounds of this we would have an amazing mini quilt at least with that size square.
I am totally out of practice in organizing, but would anyone else out there be interested in this?

7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Fairy garden / enchanted space craft along anyone? on: May 19, 2014 05:19:35 PM
I don't know about anyone else, but my kiddo and I are totally ready to begin creating for this years fairy garden. (kiddo says we have an enchanted tree that must be decorated- unfortunately last years wooden homes rotted during the cooler months)

I thought, perhaps, others share the same creative itch!? It could be where we share all things fairy/enchanted garden what we are into....planting, creating little homes for them, anything fairy garden related...

Anyone interested?  Grin

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Olivia Fernly~ or my first ever poppet/punkin :) on: August 05, 2011 08:32:39 AM
I had to finally get brave enough to give the poppet/punkins a go! and so i decided to combine one along with one of my favorite styles, gibbous!
Introducing Olivia Fernly

I needle felted her woolen hair into her head, and also her nose. my kiddo was worried that i was hurting poor Olivia Fernly, but she didnt seem to mind it too much  Smiley

her gibbous style inspired gown blowing in the wind. i love mixing up textures and with her coloration and hair style, it seemed rather fitting to her personality.

thanks for checking her out!  Smiley

10  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 64 ENTRIES / Generations of 'Mixed up" ladies...sounds like Crafting FUN to me! on: July 08, 2011 12:31:09 PM
Here is a Tribute to several Generations of Crafty Ladies in my family...

All my life i have enjoyed crafting, weather it be sewing, baking, flower arranging, butterfly collections, doll making, you name it...and usually i wasnt crafting alone.
So for this challenge, i decided to make something for my crafting area that would be a piece of rememberance as well as inspiration!

I have included my grandmother, AKA "Mamaw", my Great Grandmother, known as "Ma", and my Great Great Grandmother Kennedy. Smiley

While making it i sadly didnt take before photos or in process, i just got the groove going and didnt stop lol. But what i started with was an old unfinished wooden container that use to hold rubber stamps, a broken mantel clock, a piece of wood left over from a past swap, various fabrics, antique buttons & brooch, scrapbooking materials, a sparkly key, other small oddities, a photo of my great great grandmother kennedy, my mamaw's signiture, and my Ma's hanky....

Ma's hanky is in the old clock, she always had one on hand, and they were always so cheerful looking where at least if you had a runny nose, you were stylish! I made it into a flower shape as she use to grow and also make paper flowers. When she didnt have any flowers in the yard and a loved one or neighbor passed away, she would get out her stash of tissue paper and make lovely flower wreaths for their memorial.

Here is my Great Great Grandmother Kennedy in the center surrounded by all sorts of crafty inspiration, most are every day things as she had to work with what she had.

My Sweet Mamaw's signiture on a quilt like background as i cant count the days i spent quilting or playing like it was a tent when i was too small to help as i loved to play under the frame. She and i use to catch butterflies for science projects, the wooden bowl for all the baking of biscuits, and the tea parties we enjoy to this day.

With this nearby, i dont think i will ever feel like i am crafting alone. Smiley

Thanks for checking out my entry! :0)
