1266  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / POsting pics for my partner :) on: August 24, 2008 08:44:20 PM
Here are some pics of what I sent to Woodland_faerie. She asked me to post what I had taken cause her camera is currently on the fritz, but she will post some extras when she gets all working again Smiley

A pocket sized happy:
"THings aren't always what they 'seam' to be" Seam ripper tray

A small treasure:
A bookmark so she will always be able to "find the right line"

Her medium:
A Labyrinthean Dreams embroidered pillow case so she will get some good rest &  not lose her head...

And her large happy:
A Labyrinth "Jareth's Moon" halter/ skirt! She can wear it as a tie skirt, or higher and use the tie as a halter. (currently modeled by my plastic friend 'Maude' hehe)

Close up of Details:

Jareth is holding ,instead of one of his bubbles, a ball of yarn in honor of all that is crafty Smiley

I had a ball making it all for you my Laby Friend!!! Smiley

Any that one can recommend?

oh yes!  my favorite one is:

Amigurumi world seriously cute crochet by ana paula rimoli.
Shes has the cutested amigurumi patterns i have ever seen!  And, her instructions in the book are so easy to understand.  I love this book!  If i could only have one book, this would be it.  Grin

I also like kyuuto! Japanese crafts amigurumi. by tomoko takamori.  real cuties to make and the instructions are super easy to understand too.  eeep!

I also have a couple japanese ones too.  which I really like, but they are written in japanese so, I have no idea what the name of the books are.  but the graphs are easy and simple, so its easy to make the amigurumis in them.

anyways, i finished my little amigurumi for my partner last night.   Grin  Hes so cute!  I think im going to make one for myself eventually.  Anyone else started an ami yet?

Thank you! I will have to see about finding some of those books- especially Amigurumi World Smiley  Easy to understand is a must for me as I totally stink at following instructions..usually I just have to make my own patterns as I go and then I dont know how to make a tute & it be correct, so everything is an original- lol

Is everyone having fun PMing with their partners while making their amis? I always think that is part of the fun  Smiley

1268  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Kawaii Food Lovers Swap (SIGN-UPS CLOSED - SENDOUT: 8th Sept) on: August 24, 2008 08:08:33 AM
Get well soon, both of you.

Thank you, we are starting to feel some better. I have been crafting along anyway. If I have to semi sit still (when possible) I may as well be crafty! Smiley
I will be finishing up my large today/tonight and plan to mail out tomorrow after taking kiddo back to school! Yippie!
1269  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: The Labyrinth Movie Swap 2 on: August 24, 2008 06:01:07 AM
Bree- I am lucky! My partner was so good to me! yep! they are used as straps and you can tie them or remove them to make it however you need to carry it! hehe- he is looking at me right now here at my computer.....I told Woodland_faerie that I would be nervous about that, but that he and I already had a talk upon his arrival...NO TAKING OFF OF HEADS UNLESS ITS HIS OWN.... Cheesy

Did you make/design them or what did you use for the embroidery for yours? Smiley

So far all that I have seen for this swap has been awsome!
1270  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / I got my package! LOVE IT!! Pics Galore!!! on: August 23, 2008 01:05:54 PM
I was spoiled people! Woodland_Faerie you rock like Jareth!
I am very happy i decided to do this swap! Not only did i get some awsome stuff, but made a new craftster buddy as well!
Onto the pics!
This is how the PO managed to crush it on one side, but thankfully all was OK!

Here is a pic of it all laid out! I almost forgot to take this pic cause I was about to rip into it!

A Labyrinth guide filled with very important tips!

Sarah Paper Dolls!  Cool

A Firey!  :Dhehe- he can be a handbag, a backpack, or worn on the waist as well, and yoooou guessed it! he has removable body parts like the ones in the movie! He was VERY thankful to get out of the box...kinda hard to throw your head and stuff about when you are in such a confined space!

My Laby box of goodies!  ;DThis box is AWSOME...i love it all, but think this is my most favorite piece! I needed something like this-its home is now beside my sewing machine to help keep all my seam rippers, snippers, and tapes all in place & to inspire me!
The top:

The bottom- oops, I squished a couple of fairies! Shocked

And inside!

the loot spread out!

My lovely bracelets!...never know when you may need a spare in the labyrinth! (wouldnt Hoggle be green with envy!? I love them!)

There was tea to share when I came across Mr Worm & the Misses, a rock sent specially by Ludo, an owl pencil topper, a mask to decorate as I wished incase I went to a ball, a toby inspired zipper pouch with glitter glues, the list goes on and on!
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!! I hope you are happy with your happies too! Grin
