151  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Puzzle Clock on: October 11, 2005 06:52:58 PM
Ok all you craftsters... I need some input here...

My Aunt LOVES puzzles AND clocks so for Christmas I want to give her something I KNOW she doesn't have, a CLOCK made out of a finished PUZZLE!

I got a bottle of Puzzle Fix glue stuff that you put on top after you do the puzzle so it doesn't come apart, but what to put on the back? Would cereal box type of cardboard work? Something heavier? Should I use the Puzzle Fix to glue the backing on or a different glue? I will also need to drill a hole in the center, any tips?

Thanks for all your help! I know somebody out there will have the perfect ideas to help me!

153  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re:old children's books on: October 11, 2005 05:00:10 PM
I have some old children's books like pokey little puppy, Scrawny tawny lion. The cover and some pages were damaged in a flood at my parent's house.
I am trying to figure out something cute to do with the remaining pages any ideas?
Thank you!

Sounds like maybe the covers are too damaged but if not:

As for the pages, perhaps you could make envelopes out of them. Papercraft sections of craft stores often have a stencil you can buy that shows you how to cut and fold and glue paper to make an envelope.

HERE is a link on how to make your own envelopes: http://www.enchantedlearning.com/crafts/cards/envelope/

Hope this helps!

I wrapped one up in duct tape and used it as a booster seat for a kitchen chair for my kids Smiley

What a cute idea! I am inspired.... I have a Boston Terrier (dog) that is very rough with toys, I'm thinking of making an "egg" with something "crinkly" sounding inside... what fun! My cat doesn't like to play much....

I know this is an old thread, but I have an idea for old keys. My daughter made a key wind chime for her dad for father's day in school. They used a canning jar ring lid for the circle part on top that had holes punched in it (looked like they used a nail) Then they took some thick thread and tied one end to a key and one end to the ring. Turned out cute and sounds nice too!
