11  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Slippers and hats! Pic overweight on: September 23, 2009 05:24:37 PM
Well I am not Irish or wannabe Irish but 4 leaf clovers are kinda my un-official symbol (LOL) I was born 2 months premature on Friday the 13th, my 13th birthday was Friday the 13th, and several other important events as well.
Most bad luck symbols I consider good luck for me and 4 leaf clovers are the most lucky! I have an uncanny knack for finding them. Also the fact that I am lucky to be alive.
Ok, that was probably more than you needed to know buuuuuut.... I really wanted to say I love the 4 leaf clover hat!
I had wanted to make a star and a heart hat but I am going to do this one first!

Nice job and thanks so much for sharing!

I forgot that I hadn't posted a picture here! Here is my scarf:
(please excuse the dirty mirror pic)

The lighting does not show the color well at all. It is Caron Simply Soft Brites Watermelon. A better view of this color can be seen here: http://www.caron.com/color_cards/cc_brites.html

I would like to know, where did you find the gaffer tape in such a nice wide roll?
Also, when I make my hoops, I use a pot of boiling water to soften the ends of my pipe.
15  CLOTHING / Clothing Sewalongs / Re: apron top/hippie clothing sewalong? on: March 02, 2009 06:36:30 AM
I see this thread has been dead for quite awhile BUT I thought since spring is coming, I wanted to make some new clothes! I am going to make an apron top and a drawstring skirt.

Apron top instructions:
http://diyfashion.about.com/od/diytops/ss/Apron_Top.htm

Drawstring skirt instructions:
http://diyfashion.about.com/od/diypantsandskirts/ss/SimpleSkirt.htm

I will probably use elastic in my skirt instead of a drawstring.

Anybody want to join me?

These dresses are awesome! I want to make one for myself but I have one question, are the front panel pieces tapered (smaller at the top) or are they gathered or pleated at the top? They look like they are tapered, but I wanted to be sure....

Thanks!
17  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Jester hat (with pattern!) on: November 13, 2008 07:35:22 PM
I give up! I am not looking for a crocheted jester hat anymore! I am learning to knit so I can make this awesome hat! I am currently practicing the garter stitch and will be learning how to purl tomorrow so I can do stockinette. Thanks for the awesome pattern that finally convinced me to learn to knit!
