1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Mr. Right Cowl! on: February 15, 2013 03:50:31 PM
It's a 4-in-1 cowl (looks like a different cowl every quarter turn with the striping puff pattern)
So... in my endeavor to figure out what the heck to make men instead of a scarf, I figured functionality is a big deal - no fuss, not even wrapping around the neck - just slide it over your head and you're good to run~

One night, after seeing the ridiculous photo of a runway series here... http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/01/08/article-2259253-16D099F0000005DC-681_634x744.jpg, it came to me in a dream to make a fairly bulky piece that's easy to put on and take off for functionality.

Better yet, the thought came to mind that if they can own a SINGLE PIECE of accessory that dubbed as multiple different pieces just by the striping pattern, it'd be a bonus they can't resist.

If you live in a cold area, this may just be the quick and easy cowl pattern.  I am in sunny so. cal (bahahahaha) and while it does get down to below freezing a handful of times a year, this is overkill.  I'll dedicate it to my Mr. Right and the adventures we will go on in the future where I'll be sure coldness is a factor <all suggestions welcome - and yes, since those down under are opposite seasons than us, it'd be fun to plan a trip out to Kangaroo and Koala land lol> Cheesy

As much  as I love the looks of the piece sitting on its own, it looks MUCH BETTER on a model.. I'm convinced Wink

Hellloooooo from California - currently in Sunny Santa Barbara - potentially soon to be in Pinedale WY

I've never lived in cold weather before so I'm not sure how that will go.  Looking for any support/info/etc, and last but not least, Craftsters close to where I will be headed.

I have a 26mo old and a 10mo old that will be trotting along with us.  The current plan is to 'migrate' end of the year... eep?!  Huh

any help appreciated!

6  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / "Best Bunny" - Classic Lion Brand baby toy pattern :D on: June 10, 2009 10:49:02 PM
It's FINALLY complete...  my silly WIP that has been sitting around for almost a year received it's eyes about 3 months ago, but his/her stuffing was stashed away in storage... until last weekend!

A year ago, my little girl was 1 yr old and not walking... so, a white bunny was my first choice.  Now that she is 2 and into everything, and her brother is almost 9mo old and is starting to stand/eat solid food and get natural food colors on EVERYTHING, I just giggle at my own FO timing.

It's so adorable I want to keep it in a plastic bubble Tongue but the kids enjoy it a lot, so I am grateful!  Onward -to the next fluffy friend.

I think I'm on my 4th week with this - just because I don't have time - baby, work, etc. but if you read the entire thread - the pattern is off to begin with so most people end up with completely modified versions for themselves Smiley just hang in there and start measuring it up to yourself while you are making it before getting too far ahead w/it being too big or small.  I used a larger cup size, but i took off 25 stitches for the body piece and created my own fan increases to match the stitches I took away Wink  A lot of people have also indicated they stopped increasing half way through the body pattern because they wanted a closer/tighter fit/look.

Enjoy Cheesy  I'll have a finished product... eventually hehehe

Hehe - may want to save this for a little girl... but here is an idea: turning a doily into a christening afghan
