I hope that it is okay to ask for help with a pattern from an etsy seller (talk2thetrees). She says that she doesn't work off of a pattern and therefore doesn't have any to sell. Of course I would just be making this for myself and not to sell.

This is the hat I'd like to make, or, at least, something like it. If you know of another slouchy hat that is "open" like this, I would greatly appreciate it! It seems simple enough, but I'm too new at this to guess at a "pattern."

I have been embroidering for a few years now, mostly based on patterns of my own devising and freehand designs...

The cover of the Zombies' album Odessey and Oracle is just screaming to be turned into a large scale tapestry-like piece for hanging. It's got lots of chunks of the same colors, but I'm a little bit worried about the people/faces looking realistic. Does anyone have suggestions of getting this project started? (I was thinking lots and lots of tracing paper; using wax pencil/transfer paper in "layers")

A friend is visiting from England tomorrow and I knew I had to stitch up a unique souvenir, fast! It's all backstitch. Didn't have much time for anything fancy. Hope you like it!

FredFlare, a cute boutique on the web and in Brooklyn, NY, is hosting a sort of "valentine drive" where you make homemade valentines, mail them in, and they will sell the unique creations in their store for $4 a piece, with all of the proceeds going to Elder Craftsmen. My grandparents participate in that program, and a lot of what they do is make things like baby blankets etc for charitable causes. So this is basically charity for charity! It sounds fun!

You can make it out of anything… Construction paper, collage, paint, crayon, a print of a photo you took, write a poem, make a mix tape, whatever ya feel like! Just make it fun and from the heart and easy to send. Be sure to include a matching envelope. Have fun with that also!

i work at a girl scout camp, and for those of you who aren't familiar, it's traditional to choose a "nickname" so that the girls can be on a first name basis without being "rude" (originating with the beginning of girl scouting).  so, as a thanks to everyone for 5 great weeks so far, i sort of went felt crazy.  my pin, i'm gingerbread, isn't pictured but it is also cute!  this is my first time doing anything like this, so i hope you like them and i'd appreciate feedback!!

oh, and i made the design myself - just used a transfer pencil to get the design onto the back of the fabric.  i'm pretty stoked on it!

inspired by the amazing crafts in the doctor who themed swaps, i picked up some felt and got to work.  i've never done anything of this sort before and did it completely on the fly.  all in all i think it came out pretty well!  [and if you consider the fact that a nintendo ds folds open, then this is indeed bigger on the inside than it is on the outside!]

My name's Kim, I first found Crafster through stumbleupon.  I'm the Arts & Crafts director at a Girl Scout camp and thought I might be able to pick up some ideas here (or post some of my own!)  In my free time (what free time?) I do some simple cross-stitch/embroidery, punch needle, knitting, and collaging.  Most of my time is taken up being a musician though; I'm currently getting my Bachelor's in Music Education...I play clarinet, saxophone, ukulele, accordion, amongst other things...

I was curious if the forum had any sort of kid's crafts forum, and if not I'd be interested in starting one...after I get acclimated and everything..
