1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Lolita Clothing Swap Gallery on: August 18, 2011 08:57:22 PM
Hi hi,

I received right before I left for camping, and I'm so happy with what I got!

Super cute decorated mailer!

Everything was wrapped in pink tissue! So cute!

Eeeeee! My first properly decoed item! She said she liked to do decoden, so I requested she deco something small for me. It's so cute and sparkly!

Some really sweet Hello Kitty 'motion stickers.
Now you see kitty...

Now you see her friends!
Kinda headache inducing if you stare at them forever like I did...

Awsum! A 'Pink' Lush bath bomb!
I've been wanting to try their GIANT bath bombs for a while now!

However, I kinda cascaded my room in pink dust trying to open it... n_n;

She also sent me some beauty samplers and these wicked awesome fake nails! They even have acrylic sculptures of little hearts AND rhinestones! Awesome and a half! Totally the type of design I love to make!

And a sample of all the Harajuku Lovers fragrances! Gwen Stefani is batshit crazy as far as i am concerned, but I do love this line! Everything they make is so cute! And they all smell awesome. I'm kinda tempted to buy the full size set now (if only for the cute doll containers)

(check them out! They're so cute!)

-ahem- But anyway...

CHECK OUT MY AWESOME BUNNY HOOD SCARF!! OMGOMGWHARBLOMGGARBL!!!11one! -foams at the mouth-

The little nubbies on the fabric make it even cuter! XD

And last but not least, the large item required in the swap; she made me a jumperskirt!

And the coloring is right in these photos. It's kind of a light lime-green rather than a mint. It's really sweet and country, and I can't wait to coordinate it!

Detail of the hem and lace

Detail of the front bodice

Thank you Muffins_goes_rawr/Genesis! This is all so super cool! I feel really spoiled. :3

Aaaaaaand, sent!
Signed, sealed and delivered! :3
And simultaneously discovered that my new university has an on-campus post-office! Woot! XD

However, the woman there said it probably would be postmarked tomorrow, so Muffins can expect it in the next 2-4 days. Yeah! Cheesy

Final item count:
1 large
1 medium (with detachable small)
3 formal 'smalls' (a pair set + an extra small)
And several other small toys and tidbits. :3
Hope everyone else is doing awsum!

Oh, and I should probably mention, I already PMed Muffins about this, but I'm in my finals week of my summer class, and from Friday through Sunday I'll be on a camping trip with the boyfriend. So pardon me if I drop off the face of the earth for the next week. I'll post my teaser pics if I have time after tonight's homework, and I'll probably have to post pics of the stuff I receive next week.

Yes! Cheesy

I'm finally ready! I ended up hand-sewing the last few parts of my large, so it ended up taking more time than I expected. And I kinda just gave up on the resin, it ended up being a disaster. Anyone want to see some lol-tastic resin fail pics? XD

I ended up just scratching it and making some different smalls, but I'm really happy with how they turned out. All's well that ends well, I suppose. :3

Yay.... TTuTT
I actually just came on to ask for an extension, I had some... er... issues casting resin properly, and one of my projects I forgot at work, so the likelihood of being able to send it all tomorrow would've been pretty low. Now I can add the extras I wanted to! Cheesy Huzzah!

I am making really good progress, though. My large just needs another hour or so's worth of work, my medium is at about the same point, and my smalls just need to be glued together. :3

Wewt! I just finished the fiddling with my large, and started assembling it before work today.
I hope it fits well, I drafted up a pattern based on an item of my clothing. But the detail looks AWESOME!

Can't wait to send and receive! I'm so excited! .n_n.

I might also go collect some little stationary extras from sanrio or some such. I love doing that in swaps.

Whee! I'm about 30% done with my large now, and I'm caught up in some of the fiddly detail work, but after that it's smooth sailing and should only take 2-3 hours to assemble.

Now I'm caught up in a debate with myself about how my medium is going to work. I'm attempting to draft my own knitting pattern, but I'm not exactly an expert in that respect, so I have a sewing-based plan B if worst comes to worst.

And the smalls are just about complete! Whoo! Cheesy

Oh... Actually notating my progress would probably be helpful... TTuTT

I'm about 60% done with the smalls, and have started on pieces of the medium, but haven't started on the main part of the medium or started on the large. Just picked up the fabric and such today, so that should change in short order.

FINALLY got all my materials together for the most part... I'm already in ' OMG only 20 days until sendoffs!' panic mode! XD

Then again, I'm planning to spoil my partner quite a bit, so if a downgrade is necessary, I've already thought it out. I KNOW she's going to love it to death, even if I go with Plan B.

Argh, times like this make me hate work and wish I had a car! I've got all the stuff I need to start crafting, but my patterns are a two hour bus ride away, and the boyfriend's still at work! Blargle! Oh well, for now, I can still finish up my smalls, and I'm going to start on the interchangeable bits for my medium. Woot!

On the bright side, once patterns are in hand, it'll probably only take me 2-3 days tops for each of the other pieces. Yeah! Cheesy

And sorry for ranting, but this swap is the highlight of my month! Cheesy

Uwah! n_n

I can't wait to get started on this! I wish I hadn't left my fabric/yarn stashes at my parents' place, I want to start NOW!

Oh well, it'll probably take me a few days to design things out, and then I'll head to my parents and then Joann's to fill in the gaps.
I might even use this swap as an excuse to try dyeing lace. :3

Wow you make peach look so GOOD!

I've always avoided salmon-ey pinks like the plague, but now you make me want to put together a peachey coordinate. :3

I just started following your blog a little while ago.

And I can't wait for the swap! Good for you for putting it together! Cheesy
