21  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Decked Out for Deathly Hallows Swap (CLOSED! ~ Sendouts 11/5) on: October 02, 2010 12:09:29 PM
I just picked up a supply for my wearable while I was out grocery shopping this morning.  (No, the supply didn't come from the grocery store.  I stopped at Target too!)
Oh how I wish we had a target.

I went to Joann's today and picked up the rest of my supplies. I'll be crafting tonight after my kids go to bed!  Grin

I'm working on part 1/3 of my toy/game. I still need to get supplies for 2/3 wearable items. Heading to the craft store on Saturday. Smiley

I started part one of my wearable tonight! Earlier today DD and I baked sugar biscuits from the new cookbook and they were delicious!
24  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Re: My Farbenmix Pattern Book is HERE! on: September 25, 2010 05:55:10 AM
I love this book!! Yes, I was a bit disappointed by lack of boys patterns at first, but I've quickly gotten over it. I made my DS two Imke shirts (one with hood and plain sleeves and one without with layered sleeves) and I am thinking of altering the Dortje pattern slightly to make a pair of trousers for him too. I made my DD a pair of Dortje trousers to match an Imke shirt and they're cute. I also altered the Imke pattern slightly and made her some dresses for fall. I agree that the patterns were easy to follow once you had your pieces cut out. I'm planning to make the Manhattan for DD as a Christmas gift.

Cheers to Professor Jennie!

That trailor gave me the chills too. I'll be watching it a few times more with my husband after he gets out of work.

I picked up the first of my crafting supplies last night!! Now I can't wait to put the kids to bed to start doing my first item!! (I'm not yelling, I just love exclamation points!!) Oh, and I got the unofficial Harry Potter cookbook in the post yesterday. I can't wait to start trying out some of the recipes. There are quite a few desserts though! Paul told me I needed to make custard creams first, but they will have to wait until I do the creamy, dreamy chocolate gateau.  Grin

OMG you're almost done with things already?!?! I feel like a slacker.
Me too!! I've got some definite ideas, but am still mulling over the options. Smiley

I just ordered the Harry Potter cookbook from Amazon, along with some frog molds. My husband requested the cookbook since it had recipes for Knickerbocker Glory and sausage rolls.  Smiley

I saw that book online today and almost ordered it. Please let us know if it's any good!!

I just checked out the amazon preview, and it looks pretty good to me.  I think I might be able to make some of this stuff... but I doubt my family would eat it!  It took me 2 years to get them to try lasagna with ricotta cheese in it...

I have those molds in my cart, though, should my partner be interested in chocolate frogs!
My kids barely eat anything other than pasta and chicken nuggets, but DH is English so he's looking forward to me learning some of the recipes! I already do Yorkshire pudding for toad in the hole, but I'm looking forward to getting it and learning more. Smiley

Less than six hours for sign-ups!!!!!!!

We're never been to a premiere, but we wouldn't have dressed as characters. I would have worn other gear, had I been crafty back then. Smiley I'm not sure we'll go opening night this time since our babysitter may be going herself, but I'll wear my wearable when we do make it to the theater.
