1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Disney Murals Lots of pics!!! 100% ALL DONE on: July 25, 2008 08:40:28 PM
Over the next week or two I'll be working on 3 murals for my SiL that she wants in my nephew and niece's rooms.  I used clip art as source images and just gridded them to draw them as big as she wanted
Today I finished drawing out the images for my nephew's room, tomorrow I'll paint them:
The walls are pink because my niece was the original tenant of this room.  The crib goes in the corner but it's moved out for me to squeeze in and work.

I had to piece together some clip art to get all the characters she wanted in.

This goes over the length of the crib where he dreams

More pics with more progress!
2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Printmaking Final-Apollo and Daphne on: June 20, 2008 09:47:01 PM
Ok I FINALLY got a photo of this
It's behind glass (teehee my proff put it in the hall case!!!) so I couldn't get a better one than this.
It's an interpretation of the myth of Apollo and Daphne.

The image area is 24 x 36
Done on umounted battleship grey linoleum.
It took me about a month to carve but I only worked on it a few hours a night up until the end where I spent pretty much 2 whole days straight finishing it in time to print it.
It was the final for my relief printmaking class.
My hand was cramped for about 2 weeks after all my different prints were done.

Anyway picture!
3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Conventions for drawing/painting on: June 17, 2008 03:01:16 PM
I was elected to secretary of my uni's Student Art Association and I'm trying to find some ways to improve attendance...so far all the group does is go bowling and prepare for an annual cereamics convention.  The photo club has a convention too.  So do the printmakers.  Where are the poor drawing and painting majors supposed to do?  My drawing professor can't think of any drawing conventions and I've been searching online and can't find any either.  I haven't tried painting yet but that's next.

I was wondering if anyone here knew of any.
4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Lots and lots of art on: June 12, 2008 08:29:16 AM
Well this is my first topic here I'm new to craftster.  I'm an art major, actually art education and art trying to get both at once.  My concentration is drawing but I recently took a painting course and a printmaking course.  Here's some of my better stuff:
I'll start with drawings, these are pretty recent, basically just stuff from the last two semester:

Pastel pencils

Graphite pencils, 6h and 6b

black acrylic paint and a 6h pencil

Graphite pencils, 6h and 6b

Graphite pencils, 6h and 2h

And here's a woodcut and an engraving:

It's Don Bluth ^o^

Jason yoking the bull from mythology Smiley

Oil on paper

Master Study, Oil on Paper

This was my final for the class, it's Oil on Canvas, it's 1 foot high and 5 feet long.
