Finished the Princesses!
I put that glaze that I'd used on the stars of the baby's room on certain parts off the outfits since princesses should sparkle!
To see the colors proper here's a no flash image fromt he side

And head on with flash with glaze visable

Aurora gets the blue dress because she's my fav and it's the dress I prefer :p
I asked SiL before I did it though since in the source picture(and nearly everywhere else Sad )she's in pink

started the princess one got the rest of it all drawn out today
She shares a room with her grandparents so this is her little corner:

you can sort of see my source images taped on the wall here

I arranged some "Little Princess" clip art around the castle my SiL wanted (since Niece is a toddler toddler princesses are the thing for us right now)

I had to track down box art from a "little tinker bell" that they repackaged for the Disney Fairies line so I couldnt find the full image so I had to kind of piece her together using the way the princesses were drawn as refference

Tomorrow I start painting!  blending acrylics is going to be frustrating I'm used to oil paint...oh well I have some retarder to help me.

Ok the end of these is finally here!
Most of this was done yesterday with the blacks, whites, and backgrounds, this morning I just did the outlines to finish them off...I have princesses and a castle next but I might wait a week or at least a few days >_>

The shinyness of the stars is a "metallic" white I put over the stars, moon, and cloud.
IT IS DONE!!!! : passes out:

7  Disney Murals Lots of pics!!! 100% ALL DONE in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by mvmarcz on: July 25, 2008 08:40:28 PM
Over the next week or two I'll be working on 3 murals for my SiL that she wants in my nephew and niece's rooms.  I used clip art as source images and just gridded them to draw them as big as she wanted
Today I finished drawing out the images for my nephew's room, tomorrow I'll paint them:
The walls are pink because my niece was the original tenant of this room.  The crib goes in the corner but it's moved out for me to squeeze in and work.

I had to piece together some clip art to get all the characters she wanted in.

This goes over the length of the crib where he dreams

More pics with more progress!

8  Printmaking Final-Apollo and Daphne in Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects by mvmarcz on: June 20, 2008 09:47:01 PM
Ok I FINALLY got a photo of this
It's behind glass (teehee my proff put it in the hall case!!!) so I couldn't get a better one than this.
It's an interpretation of the myth of Apollo and Daphne.

The image area is 24 x 36
Done on umounted battleship grey linoleum.
It took me about a month to carve but I only worked on it a few hours a night up until the end where I spent pretty much 2 whole days straight finishing it in time to print it.
It was the final for my relief printmaking class.
My hand was cramped for about 2 weeks after all my different prints were done.

Anyway picture!

9  Lots and lots of art in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by mvmarcz on: June 12, 2008 08:29:16 AM
Well this is my first topic here I'm new to craftster.  I'm an art major, actually art education and art trying to get both at once.  My concentration is drawing but I recently took a painting course and a printmaking course.  Here's some of my better stuff:
I'll start with drawings, these are pretty recent, basically just stuff from the last two semester:

Pastel pencils

Graphite pencils, 6h and 6b

black acrylic paint and a 6h pencil

Graphite pencils, 6h and 6b

Graphite pencils, 6h and 2h

And here's a woodcut and an engraving:

It's Don Bluth ^o^

Jason yoking the bull from mythology Smiley

Paintings:

Oil on paper

Master Study, Oil on Paper

This was my final for the class, it's Oil on Canvas, it's 1 foot high and 5 feet long.
