2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / first post..... alabama 3 hoody on: January 15, 2010 08:30:41 AM
hi there everyone! Grin
im sophie and its my first post on here
i should post a lot more really as i got a load of stuff made but decided to go with this for now as its my absolute fave!
alabama 3 are one of my fave groups (for people that dont know who they are, a lot  dont seem too, they are the group that sang the theme tune for sopranos  'woke up this morning' they totally rock!) and started making it ages ago then much to my delight for my birthday in september hubby got me tickets to see them in november and as i dont get much time it was a mad rush to get it finished intime and i finished on the morning of the night i was going!
its made out of 3 different tops, a black thick long sleeved top a cropped hooded red/black top and an old black/red top of my daughters and some skull fabric i had, gremlins have unfortuantly got to my pc and made my before pictures dissapear i cant for the life of me find them.
i used the black top as the base, cut the arms of the black top, cut the arms of the cropped top  sewed bits of them together as i wanted wider sleeves than what the cropped top sleeves were like and made puffed sleeves which was my first attempt at that and as pleased at how easy it was to do and that they came out ok! and added some of the skull fabric in to them too, my daughters top was used round the bottom bit and for the heart pocket and the ribbing from the cropped top was used around for the bottom of the jumper, sorry if it sounds confusing!! i used the hood from the cropped top and added in  the skull fabric and lined it with the skull fabric too, my first attempt at lining a hood too which i was pleased with the results, i also used some red fold over elastic where the hood joined to the top to keep it in theme with the colours.
i cut out an alabama 3 logo with red felt and sewed it on at an angle then done a tshirt transfer for the main pic on the top and then a logo transfer for the on the pocket.
on the back i fabric painted on some lyrics from one of my fave songs of theirs too sick too pray and another transfer,
i love this hoody so much and it came out exactly how i wanted it too, which is always a bonus
had an awesome night and got to meet the band after and they thought the jumper was brillaint and great that someone would go to so much trouble to do that!
i would love to hear any comments as this is my first post so and c&c greatfully recieved lol
onto the pics...........
be warnned i am not the most photgenic person i hate having my pic done lol
me doing silly pose!

back

with the hood up, i made the hood quite big to accomadate the big hair ive always got lol

one for fun. me and fozzy, my monster cushion ive recently made
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / first post, scary.......... big 'fozzy' monster mario mushroom cushion etc on: January 15, 2010 06:38:11 AM
ok so this is my first post
i really love this board and love looking at everyones talented creations,
heres a few things ive made lately
hope you like them

here is fozzy,
he took me about a week to make cos all of his felt spots were hand sewn on so very time consuming, i forgot to take a pic of his back but he's covered in spots there too.
im actually using him as a cushion and boy is he very comfy, but my kids adore him and keep running of with him.
i made a little one (pic below) for someone and thought a massive one would bee good, so fozzy was created!!
he masure about 33 inches in length and about 25 inches across and he took a lot of stuffing lol

me doing a silly pose with him showing him my love!!

true sweet love

her is the little fella that i done which gave me the idea to do fozzy
he was a presnt to someone as part of a xmas swap i done on a hair extension forum i belong to, he was named desmond by his new owner who loves him dearly

mario mushroom cushion that i made for the same person as the little monster, she was really happy with it and said she couldnt believe her luck when she opened it, so that was good, cos sometimes i find when you make something to you it may have come out really well but to someone else
theyre opinion might be different so i was chuffed she love it,
it took me a couple of attempt to get the mushroom how i wanted him to look but got there in the end, for the closing i used aplix so the new owner could take out the stuffing and wash it, the mushroom is made out of bits of fleece. my kids were all gutted when i was packaging him up as they wanted it lol my little boy who is 3 even started crying!! ha kids are so funny at times arent they.

and lastly,  he was my first attempt @ making a stuffed animal, i made his legs long and gave him the name of bearylonglegs, hes made out of black fur with pink felt for his eyes ears and pads
 hes quite special to me

thanks for looking

10  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / help please with cooking times on projects using a mix of different clays... on: May 31, 2008 12:32:29 PM
ok so i have fimo and premo sculpey and sculpey says to cook for 30 mins per quart of inch so if i had a project an inch thick this would take me two hours to cook and fimo says just to cook for 30 mins i cannot see anywhere that states about the thickness for cooking fimo just the specific cooking time of 30 mins and not to over cook it well im wondering then if i done a project that was using a mix of both of these clays what would i do about the cooking time, say if cooked a cake an inch high (the thickness) and was using both clays would i go with the sculpey instructions and cook for the two hours or the fimo instructions and cook for just 30 mins and risk undercookoing it, how do you come up with good cooking guidelines any help much appreciated
thankies
