495  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Re: My Cosplays Part 1 (image heavy) on: June 19, 2008 04:31:20 PM
I actually enjoy working with Satin.  The reason I was stressed is that I constructed all 5 costumes from 1 bodice pattern, plus I styled the wigs (the blue and green wig were both the same length as the purple wig,) made all of the ears and tail and made boot/shoe covers for all of the footwear.  It didn't help too much that 2 members of the group lived out of town so fittings with them were hard to so.  I ended up having to take the green dress in by 2 inched either side that day we arrived at the convention.  I didn't have my sewing machine so I had to handsew it all (I was up til 4am that night doing it)

Thanks for the compliments!

Does anyone know where to get the joints in Canada???  My local Michaels used to sell dollmaking stuff (incuding joints and eyes) but they've quit stocking it.  I already got some eyes from Suncatcher eyes, but I desperately need the joints so I can make my Poppet.

Any Help???

The Hope Card from Card Captor Sakura Movie 2: The Enchanted Card
Robin Sena from Witch Hunter Robin

The wings only look heavy on the Hope Card.  They're fairly light and all of the feathers (400+) were made from fun foam)

That's all I have done right now.  I'm working on a new costume right now for a convention in Aug.  It's supposed to be a secret but I'll give u a hint... He's a big, green, bug filled Sandy Claws kidnapping villan.  Can you guess???

Heyall!

I'm breaking this into parts as I have a LOT of pictures and don't want to have a rediculously long first post in a thread (and to go easier on people who don't have high speed connections)

I'm posting all of my cosplay costumes here.  Myself and my friends wear these costumes at Anime/Sci-Fi conventions and I have won several awards for them.

Each of these posts will have a refrence pic (or pics) as well as pics of my costumes.

Staring from the beginning 2001-2003

2001 Canadian National Anime Expo
Yuna from Final Fantasy X and Merle from Vision of Escaflowne
---------------------------------------------------
My very first costumes.  These were made in about 2 weeks so they're not that good.

Hikaru Shidou from Magic Knights Rayearth
-----------------------------------------
Second costume ever and my first attempt at making props (I'll try and find the sword and get some closeup pics of it)

My Costume

Canadian National Anime Expo 03
Sesshoumaru from Inuyasha, Ayane from King of Fighters
-------------------------------------------------------
Sesshoumaru was my most expensive and time consuming costume at that time (over 200 bucks CAN and about 3 months of work)
Ayane was made for a friend(she helped out a lot with it and my Sesshoumaru costume.)
With both of these costumes, there was some airbrushed stencil work done (first time airbrushing)

I also wore Sesshoumaru at Anime North 04

That's all for this post!!  Up Next Anime North 04 (Friends costumes) and the Canadain National Anime Expo 04 (Big Group)
