1  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / If only the world were more like Craftster on: September 03, 2008 12:38:45 PM
I was thinking about this the other day - here we are in the height of the US political drama, all the mud-slinging, tension, indecision...  Angry  and living in the city I see destruction, violence, etc... Cry  and how Craftster is like an oasis from all that.    Smiley

And I tried to imagine what the world would be like if it was more like Craftster.  Supportive, kind, thoughtful... brimming with creativity, proud of our efforts, using our gifts... what a wonderful world it would be.  Cheesy
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Fused Plastic Messenger Style Bag on: July 04, 2008 09:20:42 AM
Deese is my first post, please be gentle...  Smiley
This is my 1st attempt at doing fused plastic.  I had a "Spencers" bag that had a great design on it that I used as my focus and inspiration.  But, not wanting to advertise for them, I covered their name w/ black plastic.  I kept the white/black theme - using a garbage bag for the outside black color.  The strap is from an old skirt.

I couldn't decide if I wanted to put a lining in it or not, but I really like being able to see the "origins".

The only thing I purchased was a set of "key rings" from Lowe's for 59.  I used these for the "hardware" to attach the strap to the sides of the bag.

These worked great - just an FYI - they are spring loaded and if you're not careful, you will release the little metal tube sending it flying across the room followed by 20 minutes of aggravated searching.  But, the nice thing is the little spring & tube come all the way off making it super simple to slip the strap on.

Here it is on its back - full frontal.   Roll Eyes
