1  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: CRAFT MY FAVORITE QUOTE/LYRIC SWAP!! (SIGN-UPS CLOSED MAIL BY 6/25/11) on: June 06, 2011 12:02:23 PM
Sorry for my complete lack of checking in, I feel awful!

Crafting is well under way and coming along nicely, so I'm hoping to get it finished on time (as this is exam time right now, and I'm a little stressed!).

Anyways!

Yep, again, checking in, working on it, annnnnd happy crafting everyone!

Also, good luck on your chicken pox! I was the lucky kid who had them twice, so I feel your pain. Smiley

So I received about a week ago and finally have had enough of a break in my schedule to get pictures taken!

First up, a shot of the outside of the tube. She hit my nautical theme perfectly, I love the rope and the seagull and everything!

Here's a quick shot of the top:

Here's a little shot of all the trinkets in it. Some beads and charms and sparkly stars and stickers!:

Some more tube goodies, including some cute inchies (with one based on a wist of mine), an anchor button, a seahorse keychain and a domino-tile necklace that I've already worn and loved:

And finally, she included some extra bottle-cap resin magnets. I'm super tempted to wear one of the boat ones on a necklace instead, because last summer I became infamous around camp because I was the girl who sliced open her foot on a bottle cap on the sailing beach that had been buried in the sand and it got infected and I had to go to the hospital to get a tetanus shot and miss an outtrip for it and people (and my campers) mocked me a lot, so I think that could be cool:

That's it! Thanks again Tree27, it was an awesome package!

I'm so glad you liked everything interrobam!!
Did you not see the VD employee ID card? :s

I tried so hard to make the VD logo with the actual logo part but it's so hard to do with cross stitching. :/

Glad you haven't had of the candy, that was a bit touch and go for a moment there!

They are soooooooo delicious (the sugar babies, not the craft products) and now I'm really upset that I'm probably never going to get them again! Next year I'll be living closer to the states so a couple road trips may be in order.

You could try ordering them online! Here's a big box of 24 bags for 20$: http://www.blaircandy.com/sugarbabies.html There's also 'Sugar Daddies' which are basically caramel rectangles on a stick.

ETA: I wish there was a cross between the blushing and smiling faces on this board because that face would be the best express my feelings about your feelings about my drawing.

Stupid lack of emotions! I think it would look something like:

:$D maybe?

I'm so thrilled that you loved everything! Sorry about all the peanuts, but I wasn't taking chances with that mug. Wink Speaking of the mug, it's based on an actual mug I bought at a thrift store (except my mug isn't GeneCo based and has tacky clipart all over it) the pun begged to be reused. The blood inside is supposed to look like it's dripping down when you put the mug to your lips to drink. Sugar babies are actually sort of retro here, they were popular when my mother was a teenager. I figured any modern American candy made by a big corporation would be in Canada too, so I bought them at a specialty store. And I'm glad you liked the Blind Mag picture, I'm always nervous when I send out hand drawn things!

See that's what I thought, but our major candy producer here you don't have (apparently?!) so I hope what I sent you in that regard are things you haven't had before. The picture is gorgeous, I can't wait to put it up, but I don't even want to stick push pins in it! I may be inclined to stick it in a frame if I can find one the right dimensions, or something because seriously. My mouth dropped!

I got my amazing package from Interrobam today!!! All day I had this feeling that there'd be a package when I got home but I didn't want to disappoint myself. When I was walking up the driveway I couldn't see anything and then I opened the screen door and BAM there it was!!! This post is major picture heavy because I couldn't help myself!

First off, the box! It made me grin. Smiley

When I opened it, the first thing I saw was this! (well, okay, after a ton of packing peanuts, evil lil things!) We had said we were gonna send candy that we didn't have in each others countries and she sure pulled through- I've never even heard of Sugar Babies but they look so yummy!

The next thing I dug out was a letter from Veridian Dynamics!

Then I got the mug. I was so impressed, it's absolutely beautiful! If you can't read it, it says "SurGENs are the best! A cut above the rest!"

I didn't actually notice until I went to stand up, but look at the inside of the cup! So great.

Next a lovely Veridian Dynamics felt patch!

I didn't even realize there was something else in the box but I looked again and lo and behold, here it was. My jaw dropped in amazement, this is so gorgeous! It's going up on my wall that's for sure. It's a Blind Mag "Tao of Mag" drawing.

And finally, a shot of everything together. Thanks again interrobam, it really was an amazing package!

I'm done with everything but taping the package up and sending it out. I hope shipping to Canada isn't going to be crazy expensive.

Yay!

It depends. If you ship with UPS it can get pricey but is faster, but the USPS last tine took about a month. Sad Hopefully it's better from where you are, fingers crossed.

I should be done after the long weekend.
