11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Victoriana gothic chokers on: August 13, 2008 09:20:08 AM
So I've always been a bit of a goth, but recently at the ripe old age of 19 my goth clothes are starting to make me feel a little bit tweenage. Anyway I ran these up using some leftover black lace and green satin in a bid to make something a bit more grown up goth. What do we think? Have i achieved my objective?

First choker - excuse my face, i dont like posing for photos...

....unless of course im pulling a stupid expression like this...

This is the second one, I really like the zip in the middle but its a little bit wide to wear comfortably lol.

And a birdseye view of them both.

So what do ya think? Feedback always appreciated Smiley

13  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Shoes that wont stay on!! Help adding straps or something? on: July 14, 2008 03:05:35 PM
So my best friend bought me these absolutly gorgeous purple satin high heel slip on shoes for christmas. (We have a list of things to do before we turn 30 and one of them was buy purple shoes). I love them, they are in a word, beautiful, but they wont stay on my feet!! I've tried adding things like insoles and heel grips, but they're not working. Has anyone got any ideas as to how I could add straps of some kind or similar? Any and all suggestions welcomed Smiley
14  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Boyfriend's old tshirt ripped up until it looked good on me ;) on: June 06, 2008 03:53:20 PM
Whilst I was visiting my boyfriend over the last couple of days I got A LOT of crafting done. He has exams coming up so I had to entertain myself whilst he was studying. The bag I was sewing didnt take me anywhere near as long as I thought it would, so the boyfriend dug out an ancient shirt of his he didnt want anymore, and I had a ball cutting and ripping until it was me sized Smiley

Let me know what you think:)

The before shot so you know what I was working with.

and after....

(excuse the retarded look on my face, I was tired and ill at this point lol!)

Awesome back logo:)

Comments and feedback always appreciated xxx
15  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Denim monster for the boyfriend (kept me entertained while he revised :p ) on: June 06, 2008 03:41:51 PM
So I went to visit my boy at his university on wednesday, as my exams were over and I hadnt seen him in a good long time. Unfortunatly his exams are yet to start so he had to spend a lot of the time I was there studying Sad but this did mean I got in a good crafting session. I did a recon of one of his t shirts and was left with a lot of little scraps of material, so since I had some denim with me for a bag I was making I decided to make him a little denim monster and use the tshirt material as stuffing.

Its nothing particularly special but ive never made a toy like thing before and I thought it wasnt a bad attempt. The 'hot tuna' label sticking out of his ear was also from the tshirt and added mostly for increased randomness.

Comments always appreciated Smiley

His name is Dant Terry Lucifer, what do you think?
16  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Dresden dolls/ Amanda Palmer/ Punk Cabaret swap? on: May 29, 2008 12:28:39 PM
Hey guys,

Im not qualified to swap yet, but I wondered if anyone would be up for a swap themed around the dark cabaret style of the dresden dolls, if not on the band themselves. Any takers? For an idea of the sort of style i mean visit preg_replace('/(.{19})/', '$1 ', 'www.dresdendolls.com') . Generally thinking, dark, beautiful and arty. Smiley

Oh also as this would be my first swap I wouldnt be able to organise it so if anyones up for organising that would be great too.
17  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / *first time project post* Vinyl record earring holder on: May 29, 2008 11:01:39 AM
Right, I'm aware that this is not the most innovative or exciting project in the world. But it works, and all my friends at university now want one :p It was really easy to make, just put the record in the oven for a couple of minutes, bent it into shape, and then poked lots of holes in it with a hot needle. Oh and i covered the middle bit with a photo of my best friends since it was a really random record with a lurid yellow centre.

Anyway since this is the first project ive had the courage to post any feedback would be appreciated Smiley Thanks for looking xxx

18  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Awesome Mum's 50th birthday on: May 27, 2008 09:10:51 AM
Right, so its my mum's 50th at the end of June, and I really want to get her something good, especially since this is her first big birthday where i actually have the means to.

So some inspirational material:

She is incredibly cool, she was part of the original punk movement, worshipped David Bowie and Roxy music and used to date the drummer of the original psychodelic furs. She has a degree in fashion and lived in london for 20 years.

I dunno how helpful any of that is but basically im looking for gift ideas. Crafted ideas are good but I'm looking to buy something too so any ideas from you lovely creative types would be much appreciated Smiley

Crafty love xxx

p.s. my dad is stressing about what to get too so if anyone comes up with anything on the pricier end of the spectrum let me know ^^
