I keep reading that the Longtail CO is super easy, well then I must be missing something, because I cannot do it, not for the life of me. I watched the knittinghelp video, yeah, no not working, so if anyone's got a better video, that would be great. (Knitting help did not help me on the kitchner stitch either, I had to find another video, so it might just be her description I don't get. What makes this so much easier/better than knitting on (which I do now)
I am a new knitter, so I don't have very many needle sets. a straight 10.5 a 42" circular in 10.5, a 14" or 16" (I can't remember the conversion 40cm) circular in size 7 and a DPN set in size 8.
The pattern I'm planning on doing next has you start out 4 sizes smaller than you need to get the pattern guage, then you switch to needles 2 sizes smaller than guage, then later to the guage size. now this would mean I'd need to buy 2 more sets of circulars, as I'm 90% sure that my gauge size is 7 though I'm going to double check. Also this pattern is done in the round
Will it turn out bad if I do it all on one set of needles?
I am sure i have something caught in the tension disk for the left needle of my serger, I know the thread caught because there is tension on it, but there isn't enough, and I've turned it all the way to 9, it's serging like it's at 5, it needs to be between 6and7, when it's working proper. it looks fine most of the time, but it's not right, and that bothers me.
so how do I fix this?
DH won't be able to go with me into the city to get it serviced, if that's what it needs, until september.
I want to lengthen just the length of the 3 step zigzag on my brother LS2125, I was wondering if it was possible, I noticed there is a little screw next to the stitch selector that looks like it will change the zigzag length, but I don't want to mess with the other stitches, they work perfect, I just want that one to be a little bit longer when i'm doing elastic.
I have been having problems with my bobbin thread going crazy, yesterday I quit sewing, because it was so bad. and I couldn't figure it out, but I just read a post that suggested changing the needle. Doh, I've been using this one for several weeks, and on velcro to yet, and I've been very busy sewing. I bet the machine could use a good oiling too.
I got some fabric from a lady who supposedly prewashed it, I doubted it at first, but I really doubt it now, I put in the last piece (hot), 4or5 meters of red flannel, and checked while it was agitating, and the water was red, not pink, but red.
I ran it again on warm, then on cold, i checked it during the cold cycle, and think it worked, but i want to double check with people more knowledgable that colour doesn't just come out in a hot wash like that.
