1  Re: Hunger Games Gallery in The Swap Gallery by ElizabethsMom on: March 05, 2012 11:35:10 AM
Ok, so all else failed and I just had to upload the pics from my phone to the web and then come find them on my computer. Jeez, what a long way to go about it! Anyway, here are the pics of my swap package from Wintergirl66 Smiley

I received a letter from Seneca Crane stating that upon my winning the 73rd Hunger Games, some items of mine got left behind. The Capitol was kind enough to send them to me and also add a few extras!

First: The Training Center Tribute Uniform (Front and back)

**Note, Apparently I have put on a couple pounds since now I am eating better Wink So my daughter had to model it.....I may not be getting that one back...

Next: The Fiery Headpiece

Here is my Victor's Medal along with a Mockingjay t-shirt, necklace and pin.

This is the bottom side of the shirt and the candle that the Capitol so graciously included:

Just for grins, this is a close up of the necklace:

As always, I am so grateful to the Capitol of Panem for everything they do for us in the Districts. These items will definitely aid in my viewing of the 74th Hunger Games.

(Thank you so much Wintergirl66, you were a great swapper!)

Just tossing a couple more pics up. I couldn't find a good one with Katniss actually wearing the dress but I at least got one of it standing.

And here's a fun one of my kitty playing with Peeta's first head. It was a little too square so it became a cat toy Smiley

3  Horus the Interactive Mummy in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by ElizabethsMom on: January 28, 2012 02:10:57 PM
My daughter is doing a report on Ancient Egypt. For this she wanted to make a mummy. She designed him to have a working nasal cavity for removal of the brain and a slit in the side for removing the internal organs. This is what she came up with.

She crocheted the brains herself and I helped sew the body. We think he is pretty neat Smiley

4  Re: TUTORIAL: Reconstructed Men's Shirt to Button-down Tank Top! (surgery prep) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ElizabethsMom on: June 08, 2011 09:42:38 PM
I did it! I did it! I made a shirt out of a button down that my neighbors son outgrew! My stepson isnt the button down type so I have about 3 of these to work with Smiley The only problem, how do you keep the straps up? They keep trying to fall, but I love it anyway Smiley

5  Re: TUTORIAL: Pyjama Pants - using a ready made pair as a pattern in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by ElizabethsMom on: December 21, 2010 09:41:53 AM
How funny! Since my last post I have made maybe 6 pairs for the kids and a couple for hubby and me. Last night I cut out 6 more pairs for the kids and the neighbors kids for Christmas. This was my first pair I made. These are still on his list of favorites! I made them from an old pair of my sisters jammies that had holes.

6  Tattoo Lampshade in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by ElizabethsMom on: August 12, 2010 11:55:36 PM
I found this lamp in the garage today and decided to give it a makeover! Of course, I didn't take before pics but it was cream, dirty and pretty banged up. I took it apart and hot glued the fabric to the plastic bit and them glued the trim. The only thing I did wrong was that I didn't account for the fabric making the shade fit a bit tighter on the metal frame pieces. It all worked out in the end tho and here are the results!

Thanks for looking! I am thinking about painting the base of the lamp red, but I need to wait for daylight Smiley

I received my package today from lady4feet! The first item I saw...Kinda made me feel like Riverdancing!

The mug (which I am drinking from right now!) is SO COOL! It says "Hey fuck-ass, give me a beer". I am so totally admiring the etching! I have always wanted to learn how to do that!

Next came the coaster, so appropriate that it was the squished kitty coaster! (I forgot to get a good front shot of the kitty but that's also because the contents of the mug are half gone already!) The back says "Is it dead?"

The plaque, which is hanging on my wall already Smiley

And finally, a jewelry box with a necklace made from pounded pennies inside!

I feel so spoiled! Thank you so much for everything!

8  Jammie Pants Made From Jammie Pants! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by ElizabethsMom on: May 03, 2010 02:57:49 PM
I made these for my son out of an old pair my sister gave me a couple years ago.

I used the tutorial found here
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=327129.0

and used a pair of his existing PJ pants for size. Lots of fun and he LOVES them because they "Mimee and Puto" (Mickey and Pluto) on them!

9  Kite Day!!!! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by ElizabethsMom on: April 22, 2010 10:35:49 PM
So, today was kite day at the kiddos school and I'm cheap. Rather than spend 3 x the cost of a kite (3 kids total) I decided to make it my mission to make kites for them. I was totally surpriised to find that there are NO homemade kites on Craftster!!! After searching Google I found a tutorial for "the 20 minute kite". Super easy and I made 3 in an hour (I was being hounded by a two year old AND had to go down to the garage to find the tape).

I only gave it 10' of string and here is where I wish I had given it more.

So easy a two year old can do it....ok, with mom actually getting it in the air...

Just a fun shot of about a third of all the kites that were flying today.

I am so glad you like your kit Tar!

Now for me to show off mine Smiley I received a crochet kit from DizzerSpinninRound

I love the yarn colors she picked for me Smiley There are 3 skeins and one ball of yarn and also a little scrubbie.

I don't think she knows just how perfect this for me...to have something tangible like this...I might actually be able to get it this time Wink

I can't wait to see the videos she made for me and get started!!!!
