61  Re: PostSecret Round 7 in The Swap Gallery by beki710 on: January 12, 2009 06:14:24 AM
Just got home from my parents; here's the ones that I recieved while I was away:

I slept with heroin addict while he was high.
He tried to convince me he didn't use any more and wasn't snorting it in my bathroom all night.
I wanted to believe him because he's the most beautiful guy I've  ever known.
I hate myself for it.

Even though I've lost over 100lbs, I still think of myself as a fat girl.
I'm always surprised when I catch a look at myself in a full-length mirror, or when clothes fit, or when my boyfriend picks me up.
[on the back] I lost the weight due to illness not due to hard work... Maybe that's why.

Honey I'm leaving town.
More and more lately I've been thinking about packing up everything and leaving the country to start all ver somewhere new.

[front] I'm only 21, and I check out the guys...

[back] From the L.L.Bean catalogue. I'm a wierdo!

They keep asking what they need to say or do to be forgiven... I haven't told them because I don't know.

Let's get married! I love you!
[back] the only thing that's stopping us is the money Sad

63  First attempt at Fimo beads! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by beki710 on: December 10, 2008 11:53:08 AM
Well a couple of weeks ago I posted my first attempt at making things with Fimo and I got some encouragement to continue with this stuff!  Tongue
So I had a go at making some beads through making a cane (I so just had to check with my housemate that was the right word; I'm such a newbie on these boards!) They didn't turn out how I imagined but I love them; they're kinda abstract and funky. I dunno what I'll do with them yet but I'll post pictures when I do!

Sorry about the bad photo. I took it on my bed instead of a flat surface!

65  Large Earrings into Funky Pendant in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by beki710 on: November 26, 2008 02:10:52 PM
So this is just a quick something I made the other night. I bought some rather oversize earrings at New Look in the Sale. I don't like large earrings at all, long dangly ones are fine but I find wide ones too overpowering!
I basically took one earring, removed the earring hook and put it on a chain. Voila! A funky pendant model by my lovely housemate  Cheesy

66  First ever Fimo Attempt. in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by beki710 on: November 26, 2008 02:06:03 PM
So my housemate (Midnight on here) gave me a box of fimo a few months ago that she didn't want any more. It's sat in my room... Until now!  *Dramatic chord*  Shocked

Basically I needed to craft some small (supposidly to scale but didn't end up so) food for a to scale model set I was making for my set design course. Some of it was bizzare stuff to craft, like Char Sui. But I gave it my best attempt! I think for the first ever things I made it came out pretty well! I like the mini cups of tea the best. (And my stage design tutor thought they were pretty funky as well!)

And while I was doing this I decided to make some earrings for myself. I went for Pacman and one of the little ghosts as I thought they were simple enough for me not to mess them up!  Cheesy

These are my first things made from Fimo but I'm sure I'll be back again posting more stuff. Comments would be great!

67  Re: PIRATE Swap Returns from DJ's Locker (SIGNUP 9/12/089/30/08; MAIL By 11/3/08) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by beki710 on: September 28, 2008 12:03:50 PM
Thought we'd (me and Midnight) share our latest piratey photo - from on Friday night when we went to a local nightclub dressed up in pirate wear! Yarrr!

68  Tapemeasure Rosette in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by beki710 on: September 07, 2008 01:27:45 PM
Well my friend almost bought a pair of irregular choice shoes a while ago (by almost I mean she bought them and the matching bag decided they were too much and took them back...) they looked like this:

Anyway having seen these shoes and broken a tapemeasure recently I felt a little inspired so made this:

What do you think?

69  Boredom + Random Junk = all this! {Picture Heavy} in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by beki710 on: August 24, 2008 02:30:22 PM
So I've been pretty creative over the past few weeks (this is what boredom in the summer holidays does?!) here's some of the jewellery I've reconstructed...

First I had a go at destroying a few old CDs after seeing a tutorial here on Craftster... Picture's not great sorry!

And then I bought a jigsaw puzzle at a charity shop and painted the pieces lots of different colours...

I love make jewellery with feathers on but I'm a bit stingy with my money, so I bought a colourful feather duster for 1 and pulled all the feathers off... Hey presto as many neon coloured feather as I could need!

These are probably my favourite, curls made from Coca Cola cans. I also made ones from Vimto, Dr Pepper and Carlsberg cans but I don't have photos of them...

These ones are pretty funky as well, I destroyed a spare computer keyboard to make these... Also made a necklace with a return key on it but again don't have a photo.

These ones are made out of Kaliber bottle caps that I took from my work (I work in a hotel bar) I love them because they have unicorns on!

So I guess I have a lot of new jewellery to wear (as do a lot of my friends!)

70  Beaded Tiaras in Beads: Completed Projects by beki710 on: August 23, 2008 10:17:34 AM
Here are two tiaras that I've made recently. I bought the silver headband bases then added all the beads myself.
The Blue one was my first attempt:

And then I made a Disney Princess style one with pink beads and silver stars.

I'm in the process of making a green and gold one but it's not finished yet.

Just like to know what you think? These are probably the most ambitious pieces of jewellery I've made but I've got pretty addicted to making them!
