2542  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Painting your clothes? on: June 10, 2008 07:47:24 PM
I have made a white A-line skirt and I want to paint a big poppy on it.  When I think of painting clothes, I have flashbacks to puffy paint in the 80s & think NOOOO!  Does anyone know what I could use to paint vivid colors that would not crack etc.  Not sure what kind of paint to use... Huh
2543  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / A Few Skirts... on: June 10, 2008 05:52:06 AM
Here are some skirts I finished.  The two linen ones are for work & the "batik" one is my modified version of the Nature's Child skirt in the "Sew What! Skirts" book.  On the Nature's Child skirt I didn't use the zipper & turned the contrasting waistband into a casing instead.  The linen was pretty see through, so I made the aqua one reversible and I lined the green one.  (I'm making elastic waistbands right now because I've been doing Weight Watchers & losing weight & it's easier for me to take them in that way).

Thanks for looking!

They both look great but I LOVE the revamped dress.  I would never survive at a school that made you wear all white - I'm the queen of stains.   Roll Eyes

Great job - they look cool.  Toile is so great...

Very cute - did you smock it or is it that pre-smocked fabric?

It's cute - very summery.  And you have a tank top, so I don't think you're giving away the goods...
