201  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re:Resew a Giant T-Shirt to be Form Fitting on: December 02, 2003 11:30:36 AM
What's a good stitch to use for this?  I usually just use straight stitch, and end up popping a few when I put it on.

Also, I am muy curvy, so I find myself trying to accomodate enough width for big hips without having a ton of fabric bagging at my waist.

You can't just hourglass the seams the whole way-- it doesn't sit right.  Anyone else have experience/ suggestions on this?  Usually I just curve the shirt in a little... so there's some bag in the waist and some pull at the hips.

This scared me!  I imagine getting some on your clothes and them stiffening up like ice9.

Or, grandma's fake flowers are now all housed in grandkids' baby clothes as a keepsake.

I think it would be rad to take some old corduroy pants, cut the legs so you have tubes, and use those... but you could also just glue the fabric to an ugly plastic pot or jar you already have... cool product, nonetheless!

203  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / vegan felt alternative on: December 01, 2003 05:00:11 PM
Does anyone know of a non-wool felt alternative?  Felt is so easy to work with and cheap, but I'm feeling left out as I don't use wool.

Perhaps polarfleece, as it also doesn't ravel?  Problem is, it doesn't come in squares, and tends to curl at the ends.  Ideas appreciated!
