14  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: What do i do with gorgeous over spun yarn??? on: April 06, 2010 12:39:19 PM
I plied one of mine with heavy duty sewing thread.  It came out spirally awesome lol.  The thread color coordinated but didn't detract from the colors of the spun yarn, kwim.  At this point your options are still open, but I think if you were to knit or crochet with it this over spun you may experience some biasing from it and would have to aggressively block everytime you washed the item.  ( I could be wrong tho)

I like that idea Grin
Thanks!

Thanks Cheyenneswthrt07!

I spun them as singles as the variation in greens looked awesome on their own.
I might have to ply them then.................

I've seen some gorgeous ART yarn about & wasn't sure if i could get away with mixing it with other yarns & make some funky yarn or i even considered putting some into a rapunzel scarf?Huh?

17  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / What do i do with gorgeous over spun yarn??? on: April 05, 2010 01:02:23 PM
I dyed some roving different shades of green & then spun it to make a gorgeous mixture of the greens BUT.............when i took it off the bobbin it has turned out overspun Cry I've tried setting the twist & weighting it but it is still kinking back on itself Cry

Do i just chuck it in the bin or is there some project that it would be great for?

Kiss :-*ANY ideas greatly recieved Kiss Kiss
