My Canadian friend is a major hockey fan and he came up with a brilliant idea for a hockey game scheduled right around Halloween: to be the Montreal Canadiens aka the HABS mascot incarnate!

He envisioned this

and got to work right away. He purchased two types of foams (about 3 meters of 1inch thick foam and about 1 meter of 3inch thick foam), printed out a huge Habs logo on about 28 sheets of paper, pinned that to the thin foam, and used that to cut the outline out. He repeated the process for the back, and for the red C's, and then painted the blue parts. Then, he used the thick foam pieces to make the sides. The details blur in my mind, so I hope this picture gives you an idea of the time and effort he put into this awesome costume!!

He was of course a huge hit and was on national tv for several seconds!
