21  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Reversible purse! on: June 03, 2008 12:10:58 PM
My old neighbor gave me this horribly ugly skirt and jacket that didn't fit her. I decided to make her a reversible purse out of it! Smiley She LOVES butterflies and fairies!

ps - I have never made a purse before, let alone a reversible one! Smiley

22  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Tshirt to jumper tunic on: May 25, 2008 02:56:22 PM
A little nod to my heritage here! Smiley

This one actually uses two t-shirts - the black and an plain white one for the straps and such. It started out as a REAL hassle, but I conquered it in the end! I lost my other red button, too, so I have a random pin there Wink It's kind of a awkward length, too short to be a dress and too long to be a shirt, so I might go back to it later on and make it one or the other.

I also struggled for a while as to whether or not I wanted to add the pockets. And they did end up rather wonky, but whatev.

Oh, and forgive the "Sunday at home" look lol I don't normally look so... pathetic Wink

I used this tutorial:

to make "Cheetar!"

She's my Guitar Hero mascot Wink

So easy and so quick! I've already got tons of request for kitties of their own!
24  UNITED STATES / Florida / Knitting Myspace on: May 24, 2008 04:14:15 PM
Hi! Just thought I might share that I did create an online knitting group, called the Florida Knit Wits! Check it out - we need members, since it's brand new!  Grin

Maybe one day we'll become a real-live knitting group that hangs out and looks cool in bookstores  Tongue
25  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Transfer Goop-ing my photography [First Post!] on: May 24, 2008 03:26:21 PM
Well, I wish my first post here was a bit more successful, but thereyougo...

Today I tried that TransferGoop for the first time today, to take a photograph of mine [that yes, I ACTUALLY took in Paris, France! lol] and put it on a purse. The vision I had in my head was a LOT better than what I was able to produce...

It took two tries to make a transfer, and the second time wasn't even THAT good, but I didn't want to waster printer ink. The second mistake I made was to choose a black surface. I was hoping the white would come out more white, but it wasn't enough to make the photograph noticeable, so I had to paint white behind it before I could iron on the photo. Then, of course, I was trying to artistically cover up the edges and make it look a little less pathetic, but alas...

I'm rather disappointed and bothered by the wasted materials, but such is the risk of a new craft  Undecided
