1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Quilt for expected GD on: July 10, 2008 12:10:54 PM
Finally finished, my first hand quilted one.  Normally I tie knots or pay someone with a quilting machine to do it, but I wanted this one to have a million stitches of love, to be bright and cheery to train her eyes on.

Detail of machine embroidery and hand quilted stars on top border.

Another detail of top, I couldn't decide which way it went so I made two tops, it's for her to lay on while still in Mama's sight so. . .
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Sew Baby Layette on: July 10, 2008 02:42:19 AM
My first post with photos.  (I think)  A Sew Baby layette set for my granddaughter.  (Yep, I think)

Both legs on the sleeper are the same size, I must have pinned it up there funky.  There is silver in the featured fabric and the applique on the gown is stitched on with silver thread.

A closeup of the dress with a white ribbon, please ignore the purple hanging in the back.  (I cannot decide which I like best so I'm sending both like this and she can pick when they arrive)

As you can probably see the plain lavender is a recycled Maammaw shirt.

Dress with purple ribbon?HuhHuh

The colors are more true on this picture than any of the others.

The Onsie, twosie, romper.  I colored the bias and snap tape with acrylics as I learned on Craftster.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Ottobre question? on: July 08, 2008 09:55:26 PM
Huh I have the Ottobre women 2/2008.  I'm making the Tunic from that magazine.  The sleeve ruffle is sort of a new moon shape with the points cut off.  There is an arrow on the pattern that points to the shorter line or the dark part of the moon.  I would think that meant it went at the shoulder seam, yet that seems backwards.

Has anyone made that Tunic and if so can you tell me which way that sleeve goes?

4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Buying ribbon here? on: June 22, 2008 10:03:10 AM
Has anyone ever ordered their ribbon from this site?  http://www.threadart.com/shop/

I live in the middle of nowhere. . .  Joanne's ships DHL and they Don't Handle Location, therefore it takes weeks to get deliveries shipped here in that manner.  I was looking online and this looks like the most ecconomical way to get ribbon.  Pricing seems too good to be true so I'm wondering about the quality?
