1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / What to do with wool? (4 photos) on: March 21, 2009 01:43:43 PM
Hi All,

Wasn't sure where to post this - but this seems the right place as 2 of them are cards.

My husband was going to a car boot sale, I asked him to buy trim and sewing thread, he returned with a huge bag of 24 large spools of wool. I'm not much of a knitter or crocheter though I'd like to learn.

so this is what I've done so far to make use of it.

1. I've added 'hair' on a birthday card.

2. I made a woolen 'dolly' and put it on the front of another birthday card

3. My husband put some nails in a woodchip board so that our son could make string pictures

So my question to all you lovely clever crafters is: What else can I do with all this wool?

Thanks for reading and sorry for all the pics.
I'd love to hear any comments, criticisms and ideas.

2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Boys Reconned trousers and shorts on: July 09, 2008 01:11:02 PM
Yay! figured out how to post pictures and not just a Link!!  Grin

I have a four year old who has a 1 year olds waist but a 3 year olds legs and as money is tight I decided to alter some of his old trousers.

I had 2 identicals trousers, both too short but fit fine round the waist so I cut of the bottom of one and added extra length to the other. I also drew piratey stuff with sharpies and now he has a new pair of play trousers, fine for messing about in. I appliqued an 'A' for his name on the others and hemmed them so he also has personalised shorts that he loves (no photos here).

These jeans were too short so I cut them on the curve, hemmed them and added an applique using  some jeans scraps that I had.
