One of my new years goals is to sew at least *one* garment every month. This is the first thing I've completed in May =D
The dress is made out of black cotton twill with faux corset lacing in the back of the dress. The front of the dress closes with hook and eye tape that I found in my sewing room.


Here's a close up of the corset lacing. I'm giving her white and a brick red ribbon for lacing options. The bodice is lined with brick red lining.



I <3 the hem of the skirt ^____^ The only thing that I don't like is the skirt isn't lined. >_> I don't like how you can see the seams. Next time I make this dress I'm either going to line the skirt or use flat-felled seams - tho I think lining the skirt would look really awesome. My cousin already wants another dress - this one will be made out of white cotton twill with black lace on top and (maybe) black lining.

About a year ago I tackled Simplicity 4080 and make a kimono for my cousin in muslin fabric. I had *hoped* to make her one out of fashion fabric very shortly...fast forward a year and I finally made one *lol* I'm SUPER happy with the way it came out, and my cousin couldn't be happier. I got it done in two weekends - one needed to make the kimono and another to get the obi together. Please comment with what you think!!!

So last weekend when I should have been making tutorials for my weekender bag and sailor shirt I decided to make a shirt dress lol. A long, long time ago (two years maybe) I found this polka-dot fabric at JoAnn's and deiced to snatch up what I could! I didn't know what I was going to use it for, but knew one day that I would be glad I got it! I think the print is PERFECT for a shirt dress and my friend LOVED IT!!! She looks sooooooooooooooooo CUTE in it too!! Hehehehehe AND!!!!  I have enough left over fabric to make a matching dress for her daughter Keep your eyes opened for that!


I LOOOOVE the pleat detail in the sleeve!

First new post under my new user name! Yay!

I'm heading off to Fanime this year, and usually when I need a weekend bag I raid my mom's closet...but the only thing I could find was this old (knockoff?) Fendi bag she got as a wedding gift oh-so long ago. Well...as I was taking it out of the closet she gave me this looks like she was going to cut off my hand if I didn't put it back! Hahaha So I sat down and a couple hours later I had drafted my own pattern and voila! I made a TOTALLY cute weekend bag!!!! Tell me what you think! I learned a LOT of lessons while making this bag (like sewing through 4+ layers of Peltex 71 is a PAIN) and I will for SURE be making another one! I already have the fabric picked out =D
