Thanks you all for the kind words!

I used Wonder-Under to fuse the pieces, and finished them with a narrow zigzag stitch. I started by hand embellishing the blocks, but quickly switched to machine stitching, again with a narrow zigzag. My 7 year old learned to sew on buttons in Cub Scouts, and he will happily sit with a hoop and fabric sewing on buttons, so I put him to work! I have the book "Quilting with the Muppets", and although I have not made anything from it, it was good inspiration for technique, and for design.

Marge ended up having two squares since she would be horrible out of scale with the others if I confined her, hair and all, into only one Smiley

This was a Father's Day present and my husband wants to hang it on the wall, rather than snuggle under it!

I'm working on another pop-culturey quilt for my brother's upcoming baby. It won't be as detailed, but it's coming together a LOT easier!

This is my first real quilt, and machine applique experience! I had a great 7 year old helper sewing on all the buttons (his specialty)

Thanks for looking!

I have bert and ernie latch hook kits that must be from the same company, based on the box design.
I've finished ernie, but not bert. And you're right, boy is that yarn scratchy.

chiming in with "me too"!

Ok, here's the crafty fruits of my labor! Radioactivecrafter's book was Miss Nelson is Missing.
I made
some magnets
a charm bracelet with school-type charms
and I really ran with the dual identity theme of the book! I made a reversable pouch with two of her favorite scenes, and a topsy turvy doll, with Miss Nelson on one side, and her alter ego Viola Swamp on the other.
And since she was so sweet to also send me the sequel, I shared one of my favorite books by the same illustrator.

I'm having some problems with uploading my pictures, I hope it all turns out ok.
I had tons of fun with this, I'm loving the kid type crafts. Especially now my son is on a good nap schedule, I have some time to create!
Thanks to both my swapper and swapee and to Geeyouknit for running the show!

d'oh!
I just looked in the pocket, and yep, even more craftolicious magnets! I am so overwhelmed!  Grin
Everything fits perfectly! He's a little guy for his age all over EXCEPT for his head. I love how it looks like a buggy comstruction helmet!
Thanks for making my first craftster swap such a success!

Yay, I have the bestest swap partner ever!
Taloola did some awesome craftage for me and my 7 mos old son from Richard Scarry's Cars and Trucks and Things that Go.
We got:
A super cute tote with Goldbug appliqued on it, and a goldbug pin (perfect for our library books)
A knitted Carrot Car
a Carrot Car magnet
The sweetest little top with Goldbug's car appliqued on it for Alexander
The coolest Goldbug hat (did you use the pattern from SnB? I've been wanting to try that one).
I'm the slowest, crappiest knitter, and I have such appreciation for those who do it so well.  Also, I've so been into applique lately, and I'm inspired to go grab some felt now.
I'm having such feelings of swap inadequacy, I hope Radioactivecrafter likes her stuff, it all went out today!
Thank you Thank you Thank you!  Grin
