Oh, awesome. Smiley
I have been dying for a new bag, and was actually thinking 'hemp' but that can be so darn expensive!
Plastic bags are such a great idea.. And if I can knit it, do I just need a sort of tutorial on how to knit bags, and I'm set, as long as I've got the plarn? Cheesy
3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Chip Bags - quick trash or easy treasure? on: May 19, 2008 03:56:05 PM
Everyone loves some kind of chips.
And they ALL come in some form of bag.
So what do we do with these bags?
Jalapeno Doritos come in a lively green bag, with big bold words on the front, while Original Lays come in a sunnier yellow bag.
Most are made of some shiny aluminum foil-like stuff. Probably not bio-degradable, and being in high school at such a time where there are big debates over eco-friendly activism, I want to do my part!
Last night we had a party, and ate 4 bags of chips, in varying colours and brands.
Instead of throwing out that nasty [ yet previously delicious ] bag, what can you do?

IDEAS?

I am new to this site, and very interested in creating something so unique and eco-friendly.. so, please forgive me for being naive, but how do you use the 'plarn' to create such a bag? I have knitted scarves before, but nothing more than that. Is this a crocheted feature?
Are there any tutorials that may aid me in figuring this out? Tongue

Much appreciated!  Wink
